Any FI Tuning Experiences with Scarab Performance ?
Does anyone have any input on FI VQ35 tuning experiences with this shop in the Dallas metroplex? They're called Scarab Performance.
Thanks.
Thanks.

so I went by to see the guy and let me say that he's very genuine and the real deal.
I know I'll be back when I decide to up the boost on my SC. We got my problems squared away and my car is running great now.

I know he prefers the UniChip and that's what he does mostly.
He was interested in doing Uprev but didn't want to spring for the big cash laydown to be a pro tuner when I was speaking to him. A probable scenario would be to purchase the Uprev Tunable version and taking it to him. He usually charges a flat rate for tuning and so "learning time" would not be an issue.
As for the others I recall him mentioning some experience with UTEC and Split Second but that's about it.
He doesn't do HKS or HalTech last time I talked to him.

he's over in Mansfield, TX. It's a small operation as it's just him but I actually got the sense that he 1) knows what he's talking about 2) depends on word of mouth and therefore isn't trying to just sell me BS 3) has a thorough knowledge about the VQ.

Also, Dan is a mechanical engineer by education and experience and has worked in industry for a variety of years. After talking with him I really do feel comfortable that he has a solid knowledge base.
If I wasnt a DIY'r, I would take my car to Dan.. he has a 350z.. he was boosted (dont know if he is anymore) but yes he does know his stuff. He does work on other cars but VQ is his "specialty"... He will let you chill in the bay area while you watch him do his thing and you can learn a thing or 2 about your own car.
