Why is Austin so cool, lol?!!!!

Just kidding everybody, I'm not cracking jokes about Austin. The reason for this thread is that I would like to understand something, is Austin more of a happenning place for G owners? I see more threads involving Austin rather than Houston. Come on H-town, whose got the "Info fo the Negro?" Seriously though, when's the next meet, who knows of shops where work can be done, etc. IMO I would like to see more G-action involving Houston if possible. Much respect to the G''s (G35 owners, no suggestive gang lingo here,
) out of Austin.
Thanks for the props!
Austin is no different than Houston. There was a time when Austin G's had no organization, and everyone was scattered to the wind. It takes just one person with a determination to bring everyone together to change all that; This person must create a positive atmosphere in order for a successful group to form and grow.
There is a big interest to do the same thing in Houston, all you need now is that one person to get the ball rolling. Good luck H-town.

. Well, not to sound to Godfatherish but you get the Idea. So all the "G's" in SE area of Houston, lets run with it and set it off.

Well from what I see, at meet is about to go down this weekend but I'm in the Coast Guard so I won't be able to go this friday, but we SE G owners should try for next weekend on a Sat perferably because once again, I'll have duty next weekend.

The meet was good, many of them with good info for modding the G, but the downside was that the majority of them were from the Westheimer area(West Houston) and I'm from the Friendswood area(Southeast Houston area). So needless to say, meeting with them can be a bit of a Trek. What I figure is that since Houston is such a large City and it can take literally an hr or more to circle it, we should establish something like out of the Godfather, lol, you know like creating the 5 buroughs of G-owners

What up hipi2002? No love for a G37 brotha?
I was thinking the same thing about Houston. At least the G35 guys have a little solidarity in H-town. The G37 crowd has less. I suppose that's partially becasue there's fewer of us, but our first meet back in the spring was pretty good, then trailed off. Last Saturday a few of us (4 owners + 1 spouse) met in Memorial park. Only 5 people.
At the last meet in Houston that I went to where I met you, there was actually a decent G35 turnout. I think they need to be better planned, and publicized and maybe there will be better turnout.
I too live out in the sticks (Baytown) but I travel anywhere whenever I can. I think a meet will have more support after the holidays and football season is over in the the spring (March or April) when weather is better. I'm tossing around an idea in my head that I want to bouce off of you when I get it all together.

Well as a born and bred Houstonian now living in Austin (UT Engineering Student) I can say that I think G's are much more popular in Austin. I live in the University/Downtown area and I see tons of them everyday. The city is quite a bit smaller, but I see more G's if I go driving for 3 miles around Austin than on my 15 mile drive downtown from the Eldridge area.
Also, if you've been driving around the West side of Austin, you understand why a G is a fantastic thing to have
. I've gone driving for hours through the hills and around the lakes. There's not much of that here in Houston.

, but I see what you're saying a little about G owners being basically few and far. I think that the travel time has something else to do with it. I'm down to travel as long but as long as something is organized.

I'm thinking of organizing a spring G/Z cruise form Houston and surrounding area up to Austin for a full weekend. Cruise to Austin on Friday evening or Saturday morning, meet with the Austin G clan and have a Hill Country cruise Saturday afternoon, and maybe a barbecue/picnic on Sunday.
I'm thinking of coordinating it with DFW and SA as well if they'd be interested to make it an all Texas meet. It's a ways off because it will take a lot of organization and planning. Anybody else like the idea?
While gas is still cheap and we haven't had our cars repossessed because we've lost our jobs.
