Angry Just some alarm advice...

Frank over at Kool Karz does great tint jobs but that's about it to my knowledge. He takes your money and sends everything else to his brother's shop which is fine I suppose as long as their competent to do the job. I have a Clifford Intelliguard 8000 G4 I had been calling around to ask for installation. I took the alarm to him with all necessary parts and he looked it over everything, he knew the model number. There were no surprises. Car was dropped off first thing in the morning. Just before closing, I trusted they would finish the job so I paid at the original shop (Kool Karz) and he sent me over to his brother's shop. They tell me they need the 'unlock' code for programming it, and kept making excuse after excuse. I trusted these guys that they were valid until I found out from another authorized Clifford dealer that you need a laptop to program it! (On another note, they claim they are a 'Clifford authorized dealer' but I didn't even see them listed on Clifford’s website unless it just hasn't been updated in years because they have been dealing with them for years). The installer (his brother) finally admitted he needed a laptop to finish the job. Needless to say, if you don't have the tools to do a job, don't agree to do the job! I tried to call him after I found out this from his brother's shop but he didn't seem to care--he was across town and couldn't do anything.

I am going to call back for at least half my money maybe even all of it back for a half-*** installation job and a complete lead-on for taking my money on an installation job they thought they could do. I paid for a product/service that was not fulfilled therefore he violated his 'invoice'. If we can't reach an agreement, we will just have to take it to small claims court. icon_mad

Anyone know anyone who can possibly finish the job?
