I'll chime in.

I have been know to drive wherever I can get 1) the best possible service and 2) a fair price. We all are conscious of how much something costs or we'd all pay $100+/hr labor rates at an Infiniti dealership (unless they're one of the incompetent ones). I DID take my car to Clear Lake Infiniti for my HFC install because I wanted it done right and I wanted them to have the parts available if the tech screwed up the O2 sensor (which is frequently). They did, and had to replace it but they had the part on hand. I've referred several guys to Sean at CLI because not many dealerships are so mod friendly.

I drove way the hell up to the Woodlands last week to go where Eddie recommended for getting wheel work done because he knows the manager personally and knew he wouldn't scratch my wheels all to hell. Good choice. I haven't had JTran do any work for me yet but he comes highly recommended by just about everybody. I will give him a call for my spring install. Unless he's unreasonably expensive, I'll drive to Conroe from Baytown to get work done. But that's just how my priorities are.

I understand though that everyone's priorities are different, for some money is no object so they can pay any cost. Others of us have to save every nickel that we can when modding our cars. For some our time is more valuable than anything else and I understand that too. Really it's just a matter of what's important to you and that will vary from person to person.

If you want good quality service, very fair and competitive prices. Call up Jtran Studios/Overdrive Auto.

$350.00 spring install

Easy there bro. Sal's has fair prices and great work. Cheaper is not always better. Blanket comments for the FTMFL

I live by the clearlake/webster area and in the military so for me time and location is a factory. I also know that from where i live 290 isn't that close but compared to the distance of conroe, i'd go to sal's everytime. Traffic here in texas isn't the greatest and judging where jtran stuidio and sgp are; it'll take me with heavy traffic almost 2hrs or more to get there and that's doing 85mph when traffic permits.
So i see what you're saying as to what the price was, but being that they did awesome and stayed later to do the work on my car, i'd say i got my money's worth....and conroe is fffffaaaaaaarrrrrrr, lol.

+1...............

I wouldn't pay $350 for a spring install (unless the springs came w/ that price).

Would you pay $60 for a lapdance, when a super fine hottie will give you the same service for the "standard" $20?

Bad Analogy on your part, lol. One, I've been to alot of Strip clubs (De Ja vu, Hustler Club, Scarlets, Tootsies, Edens, Sammie's) and it would be a miracle to get a lapdance from a super fine Hottie for the "Standard" of only $20, I mean seriously, even $20 two for ones come with a $15 dollar tip now end days. Now if she's not a Super fine Hottie, like a Preggo or Plumper, then you may be able to hit'em with $20 but Super Fine, never seen it. Secondly, For $60 I'm getting more than a Lap dance, there's a happy ending instore for me. So in answering your question, yes I'd pay $60 for a lapdance if there's a happy ending following,

* Please understand the comical Satire, I'm not trying to make a serious disscussion out of this, just humor. *

Haven't been back in here in a while.

I've installed springs, coils, sways, endlinks and such...just my 2 cents....:

If you have a jack and basic tools, you should TRY and do it yourself. It's a great learning experience and is honestly not that complicated; and I am far from a mechanic!

There are a few DIY on here or my350z that walk you through it step by step (couldn't be clearer).

If you are stuck on getting a shop to do the work I would not pay over $150 for install.

Good luck!

To Sal's credit, and i haven't used his services at all, the $360 he quoted me included alignment and was tax-inclusive (i specifically asked). That's a reasonable rate IMHO.
