I went to Sal's Autosport, they are off of 290 close to the beltway. Great service and fair prices. I was very satisfied with them.

SAL'S FTMFL!!!!! They are more exspensive than SPG. SPG labor rate starts at $95.00 hr...

If you want good quality service, very fair and competitive prices. Call up Jtran Studios/Overdrive Auto.

$350.00 spring install

I see what you're saying regarding prices but at the same time you have to think about other people's circumstances. I seen the work Jtran studio does and yes they do awesome work but for some of us, we have to ask ourselves if we want to make that trek to Conroe. I live by the Clearlake/Webster area and in the Military so for me Time and Location is a factory. I also know that from where I live 290 isn't that close but compared to the distance of Conroe, I'd go to Sal's everytime. Traffic here in Texas isn't the greatest and judging where Jtran Stuidio and SGP are; it'll take me with heavy traffic almost 2hrs or more to get there and that's doing 85mph when traffic permits.
So I see what you're saying as to what the price was, but being that they did awesome and stayed later to do the work on my car, I'd say I got my Money's worth....And Conroe is FFFFFAAAAAAARRRRRRR, lol.

The comment in bold. Anyone can do a good drop lowering a car. The pricing is what they charged you is the problem. I dont give a damn if they stayed to tomorrow. That price they charged you to lower your car is ridiculous. POINT BLANK PERIOD!

I would anywhere to get great service, parts and pricing. I used to drive to Bellaire,Beechnut, And Hobby Airport just to get parts or get something installed. Why? The service, and pricing. I dont give a damn how far a place is. If the price is right im driving. Its better than getting fcuked over.

Seriously, $350 to drop a car is outrageous. Espically a G35! $190.00 max

As for SGP and Jtran. They have people from all over the State dropping their cars off to them for work. If they arent dropping their cars off for work, they are ordering parts.

I hope you learn and other's learn about this experience. Shop around, and dont let distance determine the factor. Because if distance is your main goal, then 98% of the time you will pay triple the amount.

Good luck to everyone

I love civil debates such as this and by all means I plan to keep it very diplomatic given that I don't disagree with you on alot of things except....Your given estimate of dropping a vehicle, $190 max, that could be based on what it cost in Texas. In South florida I've seen lowering jobs cost at min. $275 and that's for the likes of a Civic at the "best-deal" shop in the county. Plus don't get me started on what it cost to do it Hawaii. You're lucky to get it done for that much in Hawaii. Affilitation has another thing to do with it. What I mean by that is, being that I bounce from city to city due to my Military Obilgations, I have to over time get acquaint with the locals and become friends before seeing descent prices. If I've been friends with shop owners or just with persons of a shop, I have no doubt that I would get better deals. Also, just being native from an area I'm sure one can get better deals than one who has just moved down. I will admit as I'm sure you will, it's all a matter of how sauve you are with the words. The other thing I hope you understand is that instead of stating to someone that they got ripped off, ask if they are happy with the work from where they got it done. Sometimes, people pay extra for quality of work you never know.
I applaud you if you go the distance for the better deal, I real do, but I did do the look-around, comparing, and finalizing before making up my mind, and being conscious about the time and distance, thanks to the Military, I took in my decision with great thought. All and all, though I may have paid more than what you would pay for lowering a car, I can atleast say that I'm happy with the work. If I got crappy work then what you say would make perfect sense.
By all means, I'm not trying to start conflict, but being that we're all G owners, instead stating that one spent to much for the work they had done, why not hold an appreciation for what they do to their cars.
