Whistle or whine noise when engaging clutch then accelerating.

I've been having this weird noise when I engage in 1st gear. It sounds like my car has a supercharger or something. It only happens when I press the gas pedal. I'm seriously over this 04 6MT. I'm going to test drive a G35s Sedan 6MT today. If I don't feel the love from that car. i'm getting a Evo or a E46 M3.

Has anyone else had this whine issue? I'm thinking it's the belts as i'm approcahing 50k.

you should slap on a supercharged sticker and be done with it

Does it happen all the time, or only when cold? Mine makes a hissing sound on some cold days, but only for the first couple minutes....

^^^ The dealer thought it was your tranny? Hmm... Maybe I'll take it into the dealer and get some wild estimate. It happens when I press the gas pedal slightly or when the clutch is engaging. I can be in first from a slow roll and play with the limbo area with the gas pedal before I start to accelerate and i'll hear that whine noise. The G35 has a rough idle and harsh deceleration when engine braking when down shifting and rev matching.

Any updates? Got the same problem. Does it the whole time driving, not just when the cars hot or cold. Whenever I shift gears then accelerate, it makes the whining noise then when I push in the clutch peddle, sounds like it lets off a little whistle noise.

My acura integra makes that nose after I installed a cold air intake. Just after you start to apply a little bit more gas, there will be a whirring/whistling sound, if you keep your foot at that spot, the sound is continuous, but if you apply more gas it's gone. I've found a couple of other cars that exhibit a similar phenomeon with certain intake systems.

Could be timing chain noise from wearing down the plastic guides.

Instead of being an annoying noob and making a new thread.. I decided to revive this thread cause it's what came up when I was searching.

I have the same issue and was wondering if anyone found out the cause? I don't mind the sound, just.. if it was something that should be fixed so I could get it done.

check vaccum lines too that connect to the plenum cover and intake.

Check exhaust leak. Sometimes u can hear small leaks when the exhaust pipes are cold. When they're warmed up the sound goes away. But it depends on the size of the exhaust leak.

Same issue here. Now that it's starting to get colder I have to deal with this annoying whisle sound for the first 5 minutes or so after a cold start. Haven't found any loose hoses or leaks.
Anybody have any luck figuring this out??
