No power to trunk release or glove compartment

I cannot open my truk and when I checked for power there is no power to the trunk release and there is no power to the valet switch in the glove compartment. no light in the glove compartment either. Checked fuses but don't know which is for trunk and glove.

no electric power to trunk release

No power to the vanity switch in the glove compartment or trunk release. No power to light in glove compartment. Anyone know which fuse controls these?

Besides a fuse this can also be caused by the wire breaking in the bundle that goes from the trunk to the chassis. Seems all that flexing opening and closing the trunk on some wire assemblies has caused problems, they are a spec item sub-contracted and so there have been quality variations. Too short wiring (ever so slightly) is one issue.

My rear brake wing mount light shorted out like this and sent the braking system into limp mode. the wire broken was very hard to find. I can see why with the circuit broken you're not going to get power up front on the switch (the release) since the circuit may be shorted out.

I have the trunk actuator release not working on my '04, just popped up this month and now have to deal with that, same sort of problem and betting my wiring is messed up in the same general area

Extraordinarily Un-helpful.

If the issue was as simple as a fuse, it would be done. Have you ever tried to trace a break in a wire for any of the systems running through the rocker panel, back to the trunk area?

Thought so.

Try using a multi-meter looking for Voltage Drop Method. Put one end (RED) at a known power source in that wire and the negitive on the same wire at the next junction. You will read 12 Volts up till the break. This will islolate the section that the break is in. Very simlar to Contiunity but with 12 volt DC setting.
