Just don't make any sense to me and yeah, I would be mad to find this out later after getting my car, thats after I find out VLSD mean..hehe. Thank god I got the 6MT and don't have to worry about this issue. Good luck everybody.
It sounds to me that it was a miscommunication between the engineering/factory and marketing- the cars were being made without the VLSD and the marketing department probably didn't find out until after the brochures and other materials were printed. Infiniti should have the dealers retrofit the cars with a VLSD and send the original diffs back to the factory.

Retrofit, eh.

I don't like that idea. I want a VLSD on the car from the factory.

That post on Fresh Alloy had some completely moronic posts... People need to ABSOLUTELY NOT let this go, go after them with everything you have and make them get it right. I can't believe the people who just lay down for these big corporations...

The same thing happend to me (and about 2000 other people I was in contact with) when Mitsubishi 4G63 motors from late 1995-1999 were "crankwalking" rendering the engine block completely useless. They offered me a small compensation in the form of free service or parts, but I refused and told them I would not be happy with anything short of a new motor... I constantly got "Just live with it" or "don't even bother" but I did bother and you know what, Mitsubishi replaced my motor in my Eclipse 3 times because it crankwalked... Why? because I refused to give in to their mistake, I refused to lay down and let them run over me because I wasn't some big high powered corporation like them!

GO AFTER THEM!! Don't quit! I didn't and it saved me the $4,000 each time tha motor needed replaced! (I sold the car after motor #3 went in) But the point is DON'T GIVE UP! No matter what these people say! You have a much better case than I did and you know what out of the 2,000 other people on my crank walk list I was probably 1 of maybe 100 that got their motors replaces and it was because I didn't lay down!

More power to everyone in this situation! GO GET'EM! IMHO it looks a lot like a "bait and switch" to me... Bait the person in with something that is not actually there then switch at the last minute...

No need to rush this by you accepting the "great" offer they are giving you.

It's to their benefit to get rid of us as quickly as possible.

It's up to you, do you care more about the option or the money.

Me personally, I'll take nothing less than what I payed for. They screwed up big time.

I can't imagine Infiniti shipping cars back overseas to Japan which already arrived here in the US just to swap differentials- they aren't THAT hard to replace.

I assume you already bought the car???? If so, I think that is pretty good.

I heard there is another person have same situation as me. I personally want to have the VLSD instead, but they said they can't offer it. First, they said $250, then $600 at last $900. They also said if anyone gets better deal than this, i can call them for further action.

Well, they aren't giving you a $900 perf package.

They have to at least give you back the $250 to bring it down to the correct price.

So you are getting a $650 package for free if you go with their offer.

I still say stick with it till you get Something Equal to or Greater than what you were promissed in the first place!!

DON'T back down now, sounds to me like the owners of the cars "have them on the ropes" at this point!!!

How do we check?

Is there a way to check to see if VLSD is on my car? I have a 2005 automatic with tire and wheel package. My dealer sticker says VLSD is included on my car, but now I am not so sure. How do I know? Do I take it to the dealership and have them check it?

Switch,

As far as we know, no 05' perf package has a VLSD. My sticker says it has it as well.

Basically they did not put the part on the car and left it in the package.
It was a big screw up.

So far Infinity has offered to pay $900 to people that are in your situation, I would expect as people pressure them they will do even more.

You all deserve to get what you were told you had! It is plain WRONG if you don't!
