Technosquare Reflash + Vortech?

Anyone have this combo? I was thinking of doing to L-Spec reflash before getting the Vortech installed. Opinions?

I have the L flash but I had it done just after the Vortech install due to I kept hitting the rev limiter and now it is raised to 7100rpm or is it 7600rpm.. oh well one of them.

Well it actually depends on what you are doing in regards to mods as I did the flash just for one reason only and that was the rev limiter, the rest of the tuning for all the mods I added afterwards I used the Unichip.

Well I am going to go with the stock SS box that comes with the Vortech Kit. Would it actually matter if I did it before or after the install, since the L-Spec is just raising the limiter and not messing with any of the fuel maps or other Ecu functions?

Urban - What do you think? Also, did raising the limiter give you more top end power or does the power drop off after 6.5k anyway?

Well I would get it tuned with the ss box after the vortech and a few other mods are installed but if you are not going to do any other add ons for awhile then get it tuned and raise the rev line because I can tell you now that if you just install the vortech and do not get the flash you will hit the limiter every time.
I will post my dyno sheet tonight which I just got this Friday and you will see that the higher rev line helps a whole lot. I actually tuned mine a little fatter and got 430rwhp but I did managed 440rwhp.

Here is my dyno sheet, just look at the red line and see how it is still climbing even at 7500rpm....sorry for the blurry picture but i just cannot get it to focus real well.

Ok, so get the reflash before the actual tune, right? How much did the L-Spec reflash cost you?

Does not matter in which order you do it but the L flash is a must when you go FI I cannot remember how much I paid but I think it was around 349 when I did it.

I would get the F-spec bc u will need them to raise your idle. I'm not sure if the TS allows u to change 2 of the 3 maps like AAM does so your car doesnt try to advance timing up top to save fuel.

Hey urban, nice dyno. did u get it tuned at scotts performance? His dyno is the only one i know that the rpms are way off.

Actually I have 2 dynos so that I get a better picture of what I am doing, this one is at Scott Performance and I have another from Z car garage, both very similar hp numbers but what I was trying to point out is that the hp is still climbing so I have more to play with I just need to figure out my next plan of action

Well, I could go to the dealer to raise my idle since I have an early '04. Shouldn't you get the reflash before because when they are tuning the fuel maps/timing, they have to account for a higher redline? Or am I completely wrong?

u can send the ecu in when u get it installed so there's no down time. The L-flash wont let u change the maps so your ecu will keep trying to advance time up top and lose potential hp.

Well, shouldn't tuning with the SS box solve this problem? Isn't that what tuning is for?

Correct... I hate to mess with flashing of the ecu just tune it, I would use the ss box or whatever other piggyback system you have to tune the car.
