Question Any other dyno's of 1/2" spacer+MREV2 on NON-REVUP

The only dyno for the MD ½“ spacer and MREV2 was Dovla's. Has anyone else dyno'd this combination?
I've had the MREV2 sitting in my room, for over a month, debating to have it installed or just return it.
If I have it installed, I will do before and after dynos.

My 2003 5AT's last dyno was 250HP (dyno jet), with an AFR of 15:1. I had the following mods at the time: Stillen CAI, Z-tube, 1/2" MD spacer W/ISO Kit, Invidia G200 exhaust, KJR LW pulley
I've added a custom H-pipe to give a little more midrange torque, but haven't been back to the dyno verify any measurable gains.

I thought spacers + MREV2 weren't suppose to go on non-revup?

I hear everyone saying tune the A/F - which would be going to TS for ECU reflash, correct?

Or you'd need something like a piggy-back ECU (Unichip, UTEC, etc.) or similar hardware and have have it tuned that way.

i read that you dont need to reflash the whole ECU map just for NA bolt ons. if you just reset the ECU with the pedal method or dissconecting the battery.

i've heard mrev2 is for the rev up motors....03-04 only the 6mt are rev ups...the 5at were found to be running lean with it which is very bad for your engine. I don't know someone who has expertise please guide us! LOL you dont need to reflash with NA bolt-ons given that you buy the right ones for your engine. Although a tune is always good for ya

OK, I'm tryin to figure this out. How does the 5AT has this running lean problem but the 6MT doesn't? That makes no sense to me...

because 03-04 6mt have a higher rev...therefore the benefit is in the higher RPM range...as far as the cause of running lean...someone else will have to answer that.

03-04 6mt's are not the revup engine. 05+ 6mt ONLY have revup.

MREV2, 5/16" copper iso thermal spacers installed yesterday..

i have '05 5AT coupe

took her out for a 85km test drive up on the mountain roads..

sounds like a BEAST.. revs faster.. pulls harder..

installation took about 3~4 hours.. it's not very hard.. but the hoses near the throttle body was hard to put it back in..

Tony is a good guy, easy to deal with..

i will dyno it soon..

According to Tony Colette @ Motordyne Engineering, a spacer/mrev2 combo will not make you run lean unless you're already running lean to start. Here is a copy of an email we exchanged:

Hi Darrin,

Yes that’s good enough.

And no, the combination won’t make you run lean unless you are already lean or very close to it. With the wbo2 and emanage, you will be doing great with it.

Thank you,

Tony Colette

Tony,

Thanks for the info. If I attach this email and a scan of my military ID, and send it you from my army email address, will that be sufficient proof?

I have a couple of tech questions. I've read on the forums that an MREV2 & 5/16 spacer combo (I already have the spacer) will cause a non-revup engine to run lean without tuning. While I do appreciate the importance of tuning, and have a wbo2/emange basic setup, I wanted to see if you guys have any definite information regarding this.

Thanks again,

Darrin
