I was wondering who all here does their own ECU tuning and what do u use? UTEC, Emanage, Unichip..etc? How's the software? I'd like to be able to adjust fuel maps, timing, fuel cutoff, revlimiter, volumetric efficiency, fans..& delete trouble codes..etc. I'm not spending $600 to have some shop reflash my ECU for me as I'm fully capable of tuning my own car and would like to have my own tuning software.

PS: I want solid information from people that have done this and know what they're talking about...none of that "I hear so&so is good" type replies or "my friend has so&so". Thanks

You need to search this site and my350z to get the answers you need - it's all been posted before.

The short answer is only the UTEC is user-tuneable, has complete control of timing and fuel AND is under $1k. It does not control DBW. The hydra looks top notch and is more of a standalone (covers DBW) but is $1900 and does not work for 5AT yet.

Good luck.

I tune my car using the UTEC.

You can only tune fuel, timing, and boost.

I removed my Unichip because it wasn't user tunable.

The UTEC also has the ability to remove the rev limiter and speed limiter if used in speed density mode.
