Keep my updated on your process; im definately interested in the dyno tune once I get enough mods done, as long as the fee isnt too much to handle for me (which will depend on how long they take for the dyno tune). But the TS reflash is definately a must for me, when the time arrives. .
It's best to wait until all your breather mods are done (if you can)... no point in rushing it all - research for sure and obviously enjoy.. when you do incrementally it gives you something to look forward to and allows time to research what will work best for you.Originally Posted by skaterbasist
I see, so in other words, dyno tuning is used for precise accuracy, whereas just doing the reflash itself is somewhat assuming X map is appropriate for X mods. My vote for NA cars is a unichip or emanage with a good tune. That way you don't have to pay for another reflash when you sell the car and minor tune changes can be done at lots of places. An ECU reflash is much less common.

Definately; the earliest I plan on going with TS is after my exhaust, hfc's, mrev2, spacer, and cai.Originally Posted by OCG35

If I decide to go headers or any other bolt-on after, I'll just follow the $150 update ecu route.
Goodluck on your TS update!!

Good plan Henry... I'll post when it's all complete... on my way in a couple of hours for the HFC. Originally Posted by skaterbasist

I guess now I have a reason to dyno at Stillen... each of the two years I've gone I've added new mods and dyno'd consecutively better... this year I thought I'd keep the car off the dyno ('casue I didn't think I'd have anything new) - but now I might get it up there again.

Awww poop!!!! just found out today that TS dyno is broken
The dyno service tech won’t be there till Monday to fix... So now I can only get the ECU flash update... no dyno tweaking
Oh well, hopefully Tadashi will be able to get things dialed in the old fashioned way.
BTW got the HFC today... low end TQ seems good, but mid-upper end isn't delightful. I'm hoping the ECU tweaks will help.

Sorry if this is answered else where... but after the reflash will the car still pass a smog check?

I would only do the reflash if I had atleast aftermarket cats & exhaust. If I had the money, I'd add headers in there too.Originally Posted by G35Luv

If anything, its going to be the exhaust system that will make you fail the test, not the reflash.

Skate is correct... I'm not sure though if you are asking if the reflash will correct emissions issues from HFC or Headers - or if you are asking if the flash itself, regardless of mods will affect emissions? Originally Posted by G35Luv

It does not correct emissions in the event that you have HFC or headers – however (to my knowledge) it does not create an emissions problem either. HFC and/or Headers on the other hand can/will create more emissions.
Kind of answered that more than once huh? (early for me sorry).

Thanks alot guys...
I didn't plan on doing HFC/Headers... ($ that I don't have just yet.) But I do have Stillen's CAI/MD Plenum Spacer and will be getting (hopefully) FI exhaust. After the exhaust I was going to get the TS Reflash. But I don't want to get the reflash just to have it fail smog.
