Did a baseline dyno... results inside

Did a baseline a couple of days ago to see how it looks bone stock. The temp was 90 and humidity in the 80% range following an afternoon of rain.

Compared to others at the shop, it looked OK but compared to some I've seen here it seems a bit low.

Also attached a dyno of my previous car, which may explain why the G feels a bit slow!

Any feedback would be appreciated... just shoot me straight! Thanks.

JoTech! Awesome. That's the only place I'll let work on my car.

About your dyno, it has been disgusting here in Dallas lately (heat + humidity) but 220HP seems very low to me. Tony at JoTech told me they did a stock G35 recently that was hitting around 250 on the dyno. I dunno, never had my car dyno'ed though, wish I would have taken a baseline back in the nice cool month of October.

Thanks for the feedback but I forgot to mention...

Kenny showed me a few other baseline 350z dyno (6spd) running in the 220s (very comparable to mine). I don't know when you talked to Tony but I know him very well and I did the dyno about 10 days ago and he did not have any Gs running these kind of numbers stock... a few with spacers and intake running in the 250s but none running like that stock.

At 223 to the wheels on an '04, I'm losing 20% to the drivetrain... I think that's too much for a 6-speed. However, at 240 whp I'd be only losing 14% to the drivetrain and that's too little. I don't know how much our cars lose but I'm guessing it's usually 18% and that should put me in the 230 whp range.

Of course, this is holding all else equal... like temp, humidity, the dyno itself, the gear and so one.

BTW, we ran it in 3rd gear not 4th. Not sure what standard is for this car.

More feedback would be great!

You know what, now that I think of it I think Tony was actually telling me about his own personal car, the white 350z. Maybe I'm wrong but ask what numbers he got.

Tony's car has a spacer, intake, & exhaust.

For a stock 04 G35 the numbers are within average. Depends on dyno and other factors like you said. The rev-up motors can be in the 240-250 range stock. Depending on how many miles your car has, a tune up might help (change tranny fluid, diff fluid, air filter, etc.).
When I just had an intake and plenum installed I was doing 238 on a Dyno Dynamics on my 03 5AT.

You should dyno in 5th it is the 1 for 1 gear. My 05 Z baseline runs were 245 on the dynojet and every one else at that dyno day was in the 240's. Most shops dyno in 4th but that is because the old guys only had 5 speed cars not that we have 6 speeds our shoud be done in 5th gear. Here is my before and after headers dyno.

first
aem cai
5/16 spacer
mild port and polish
nismo exhaust

after
aem cai
5/16 spacer
mild port and polish
headers
nismo exhaust

My 03.5 5AT sedan put down 215HP SAE bone stock. Something is not right with that dyno or how your car is running. You should be in the mid 230's at least.

03-04 coupes are all 280HP. The revup VQ after that pushed it to 298HP through plenum changes and variable exhaust timing.

Sorry, but i am a newb to the VQ series. What is this revup VQ? And what plenum changes? Is it a new IM and variable exhaust timing?

Is this what is now a part of the new 07' g 35s?

Maybe that dynojet you are at reads low?

How are your quarter mile times?
