Osiris Installed
Just reflashed my ECU today with OSIRIS.
I have a Stillen CAI w/ Ztube and a Stillen generation 2 exhaust. I must say was was a little disapointed after putting the exhaust on and not really feeling anything power wise just getting the sound increase. I felt more power from the CAI and Ztube alone... This got me to thinking what good are these mods if the ECU is set for stock? Not as good as they could be...
Review of my situation...
I am still under warranty so sending in for a reflash was out of the question. HOWEVER OSIRIS has multiple maps one of them being stock. After consulting with a friend that is an Infiniti tech he said as long as you bring it with the stock settings we will cover you (as they do reading in real time and stock value will be set). Plus I down time is out of the question as I have a job and need to get there to pay for this habit
so down time can't happen either (IE taking the ECU out and mailing it in). Not to mention you get the CIPHER Tool which is basically a consult II on your laptop.
Lets make a long story short....I pulled the trigger and went with UPREV they sent me the cable and software. They didn't have my original ECU values stored yet so I had to do a dump of all of them on to my laptop and email it to them for them to start. Keep in mind during this time I was not charged, just a hold my my credit card until I received my finished tuned ROM back. Well I just got it today, and the flash was successful. Stock map 1, 91 octane fully tuned map 2, stock with ETC+AFR, map 4 Valet, and Map 5 93 oct fully tuned.
Verdict- So far the best mod yet for me. I have only done about 4 runs tonight while logging to send in to Jared to fine tune. The engine is MUCH more responsive, no delay. Power increase is definitly there as well. I am thinking about doing a dyno eventually while it is on the stock map and then on the 91 map (as I am in California where we get JACKED on gas we pay the most and get CRAP with the refineries right in our backyards, it is a freaking atrocity) Anyways, if you are like me and want some more out of your vehicle but can't mail in and want to stay under warranty in case you blow up your engine by driving it like I do I would suggest this mod. Not to mention the CIPHER tool that reads just about all engine functions/codes etc.... So far.... So good. I will update this thread in the near future as well.

If I am planning to stay NA for awhile before going FI should I get Utec than?
Since this Osiris is almost the same price as the Utec. Is this better than utec?
Osiris = $700+shipping 4/5 different maps but need wideband
Utec = $720 shipped 1 map with more tunning features.

If you also plan to go FI in the future, I would say that tilts the result towards the UTEC. I'm one of the biggest fans of Osiris, but in your case, since you know you'll go FI in the future, your money might be better spent on a UTEC. It will be more than the price you have above because you'll need a dyno tune to get everything right.

But what makes the Osiris stand out from other reflashes is that you can easily reflash it again with a better map for your car specifically, making it possible for anyone, anywhere to fine tune their car with a reflash program. And that also gives you an option of upgrading the parts on your car and still have a fine tuned ECU later without paying for another reflash.

That's why I got it... I think the days of mailing your ECU in for a flash are coming to a close... I imagine the other flash companies are working full tilt to catch up with UpRev...
