Dyno'd the G Saturday

2004 6MT Coupe

I dyno'd bone stock with 232 RWHP. After the spacer/intake/XO2 Exhaust, I dyno'd again over the weekend and put down 252 RWHP. I am still on the fence about getting an ECU Flash. All pulls were done at the same shop (AAM).

I have been thinking about going to a dyno. Is it a waste of money if I am not 100% that I will add performance mods versus weight reduction? Nice numbers.

dyno seem pretty generous but every dyno is different so who knows. I think the stock numbers is inline, but to make 20HP from those 3 mods are not realistic. I'd say in the 240s range is doable. Ralph, how much did you put down after your dyno tune flash? wasn't it in the 250 range? i mean that's with the revup too. I'd say get HFC or testpipes and then do the flash. But we know how unreliable the flash may be, so make sure you spend money to get it dyno afterward to see if any changes occurred.

if you don't plan on doing mod, there's no need for a baseline dyno. As for weight reduction, you would have to strip the car before you see any impact. I think there's some rule of thumbs in term of how many pounds equates to faster time and it's a lot of pounds you have to take off to see a difference.

...thats awsome! Get her custom flashed @ AAM. I'd like to see what she does. Good numbers for non-rev up.

Ralph, how much did you put down after your dyno tune flash? wasn't it in the 250 range?
yea, my final numbers were 252/240

yes, it's an hks replica - true dual.

OP, was the bone stock dyno done on the same day or was that from a previous dyno?

see? doesn't make sense for a non-revup to be putting down relative the same number as a dyno-tuned flashed revup with more mods. I know dyno were different day and all, just doesn't add up.
