we discovered that the initial error was in the tuner.

he put positive integers in the fuel trim in place of negative ones.

for any of you taking algebra, the sign matters

so he was dumping more fuel instead of pulling back fuel.

he's goign to retune tomorrow.

SUCCESS!!!

So my tuner called today and finally the car is done.

They had a tough time controlling the fuel trims with such high 10:1 FMU ratios so we purhased some different discs from Vortech and trended it down several ratios smaller using the 4:1 ratio FMU calibration disc.

The car now runs right around 11.5 on WOT through the entire powerband.

I'll update with most recent dynos as soon as the winpep files are e-mailed to me.

damn so as I picked up the car it's still not running quite right. I'm giving up on this tuner and will be taking it to another.

Chris doesn't do Unichip. I talked to him a while back.

However now that the temperature is crazy cold the car is running actually quite perfect.

In the end I think it's that my PLX Wideband is not reading correctly once it dips below 11.0 AFR.

It drives great today. I also Dan at Scarab look at it and he feels confident that it is dead on.

I will try to use a different wideband once temperature increases a tad.

Where are you located?

You should take the UpRev guys up on their offer to tune your G if you are anywhere close to Texas. I'm not so sure why you like the unichip, but I recommend getting rid of it and letting Jared, or another Osiris Pro Tuner, tune you car directly through the OEM ECU.

Tuning the OEM ECU is a slick way to go. No middleware to mess things up.

In any event, I would not go back to the same tuner again.

^ yeah I'm gonna go have the tune checked out by Scarab here in Dallas since he's got unichip tuning capabilities and we'll check and see if my wideband is reading incorrectly or not.

If he's unable to lean it out and if it in fact is running that rich and it's not just my wideband reading wrong then I'll schedule time to bring it down to UpRev sometime in February.

I don't know much about the UniChip... actually I don't know anything about it, but I'm curious why you seem to be so loyal to it?

because I've seen it work properly on another member's car 4Shizzil

http://my350z.com/forum/forced-induc...12-pulley.html

Also the tuner I had before said it was reading perfect on his dyno and had documentation to show it to me.

I'm confident it can be done and the car drives really smooth right now. I just want to make sure that it's not my wideband reading wrong.

It seems to be a decent product to do what I need it to do and I'm arleady into it for a good amount of money. I'm not looking to spend another $1600 for someone else to remove the auxiliary inline fuel pump/FMU and place an in tank one as well as dyno tune it. I really like the Osiris setup and still have plans to use it in the future but for now I just really want to use what I've got and try to make it work the best way possible.

Good reasons. I like to see people stick to their guns and do what they think is best... I just haven't heard much about the unichip...

Good luck...

Done.

Everything is working great now on my car and the unichip has been able to keep a steady 11.4-11.6 AFR during WOT in all gears.

It no longer trips off my stock widebands to throw any codes as it did before.
It no longer reads below 10 like it did before (RCH on my wideband)
Things are dead on and the car drives WONDERFUL!

My goal now is to just enjoy this damn thing and not to touch a thing aside from maintenance.

Thanks for any of you who have been following along with this. I knew I could get it to work correctly, it just took some time to figure out some of the quirks with it.

I'll put up a new dyno sheet once I get a chance to get back on the dyno.
