cobb accessport
My buddy has one on his WRX and its def a nice tool to have if your boosted. I heard cobb discontinued support for the G and Z but im not sure if thats true. Im going to be doing an open source tune coming up in may
Get the Cobb, then get the Cobb Custom Tune, forget the pre-loaded maps, once tune you'll feel the difference most definitely.

The Cobb Access Port is a great tool. Convenient for many.
But I have not seen any reflashes to date that can match the potential of the UpRev Osiris.
The Cobb Accessport is a popular mod for the G37 guys since its been one of the first to have support for the VQ37VHR. But once UpRev has 100% support for the VQ35HR/VQ37VHR, its game over for those other guys

Soon. John is at GTM right now getting the G37 and 370Z stuff going. Hopefully within a month we'll have software out to our Pro Tuners so they can get going on it.
No software, no custom tune.
My car stalls on throttle lift, runs too rich with the Stage 2, 2+ maps, runs too lean with Stage 1, I have to restore my OEM map, ditch the AP and start over. My best local COBB expert can't tune it due to lack of software (not released by COBB even though announced 12 months ago).
Check their forums, don't buy the product, period. I cannot find a single person with gains or even a postitive thing to say about their use of COBB AP on their G35. I have plenty of company, too.

Also don't get excited about reading your AFR, the 03-04 to 04.5 did not include the wideband O2 sensors needed for the AP to pick it up.
COBB knows Subies cold, but read the following, they don't have Nissan down at all:
I'm as frustrated as you with the slow progress of the Tunning software, part of it is due to the shear number of cars I have to support (74 different ones with the addition of the 10 2008 G35's) part of it is me being a bit slow and having to work out problems that crop up, and part of it is that there is just too much work for me to do alone. ...I have finished and released the GT-R tuning software (there are only two vehicles to support with that one) and I have been dedicating a lot of time to the tuning software for the rest of the Nissans.
Keep an eye out for more announcements in the coming weeks. That's all I'll say.

I can see, given what, there are about 2000 GT-R's USDM, and only 40,000 G35's and about 100,000 350Z's out there.
Sounds like someone wanted a "Prestige" offering to show how clever COBB is that they can handle the GT-R.
THINK ABOUT IT - if during all this time given the incredible complexity of a GT-R, nothing has moved forward for the VQ35 software or maps, has anyone really put any serious priority on it? (Obvious answer, results speak for themselves).
Sorry Joe, it just doesn't ring true when for months and months I see posts saying "we're working on it" and instead I see probably the same resources releasing GT-R maps and for certain the same person (you) working on GT-R software.
I'll be looking for that refund, this is bogus. The rev limiter does not work, that's grounds enough for returning the product as false advertising. As if the fact my car is undriveable with any of the current base maps isn't enough, and it cannot be fixed due to lack of software by a tuner.
Someone managing resources put their priorities elsewhere, that's obvious. Then tell someone to keep saying "soon" for a product does not work, no software.
What I don't understand is why a business would risk their good name pissing off such a large and vocal owner group as 350z/G35 owners with a defective product and no software, that does not deliver as promised.
People who buy G35/G37 Coupes look pretty closely at GT-R's. When I eventually get mine, it will never have anything COBB on it. If I buy one of either the '04-06 MY STi's I've been looking at, I'd still throw out one of the best solutions out there - COBB - because I don't trust the name, not now, period.
Don't rush on my account, I will be doing my damnedest to return the AP for a refund.

To be fair with COBB this is where things stand today:
1) Software has been released for tuning
2) Rev Limit issue is resolved
3) Support has improved a lot
I won't touch any discussion of which approach is better COBB vs. product A or B, just do your research and draw your own conclusions. Also remember 2003/2004 you lack the wideband O2 sensor so keep that in mind for any tuning solution, consider getting one.
Thanks. I was pretty unhappy with the car; it sat for over a month. Then I just opened up the FSM, went through things that might be causing problems one by one (others not mentioned include things like MAF contamination/malfunction which tested fine).
Wish I could remember the tuner's site that listed "before you bring your car check the following..." list, because obvious as it seems in hindsight, that was a light bulb turning on. I'd had or performed all the service by the book, but hadn't counted on the oil seals leaking and the TB getting gummed up so quick.
Very happy I held onto my AP, and I did drive the car long enough before reinstall to get a sense of before/after at least subjectively for now, big plus.
