No offense to you, but I would be very surprised if you hit 255 on Dave's dyno with an auto. You have to realize that there are many, many different ways to put in corrections and calibrations into a dyno. I looked around for a while prior to my tunes and most bolt-on tune 6mt's are in the mid 240's-low 250's. One guy on my350 had full-bolt-ons and got his car tuned with osiris (5AT), and made 244. Thats the highest NA auto I have seen on that dyno in tuning mode. I wouldn't pay any attention to the numbers being put up on the local thread dyno day. My car was running on a dead clutch and I still made 10whp more than my last time I was tuned there ( when my car was healthy). I wish you all the luck in the world, but don't want you to think something is wrong if the numbers are lower than expected.
Did you dyno on sunday?

I think 245 is very possible for you.....post tune.
I did, but I have been having some problems with the clutch (90k of extreme abuse) and on sunday it just wasn't holding while under load on the dyno. I think I only put down 271 or something. It is at the point after the pulls that it slips if I go full throttle in 6th on the highway. The two cars that were close (maybe 5whp higher than me on a dynojet) were in the 290 area. It's alright though I had fun and like I said I knew it could be a problem.
I'll be ready to compete with the HR's and 3.7's in the Fall

Well, it was set-up much different than usual. There was an HR there that made 286 on a dynojet and he put down 293 on Sunday. The mode used for this shootout was MUCH different than he uses while tuning. The slip was very noticable and Dave (owner/tuner at Function) has been telling me the past few times I was there it needed to be replaced asap), but I am cheap. This time he told me flat out that it was going to die any minute and could leave me stranded. I hadn't changed anything from when I was on the dynojet. So I know where I would have stacked up, but it was ****ty timing that it really started going caput this past week. My guess is I was down about 15-20whp from where it would have been given a new clutch. Time will tell.

I picked up 13.5hp and 20ftlb on top of the tune I already had.
Before
230hp
210tq
after retune
243.9hp
230tq
The car is much smoother and responsive now than before. i'll post up the charts later. I'm going to get a 3in maf once they (Z1) get some in stock.

Well you were 1hp short. I pulled 243.9 with 230tq I was hoping for more my car was heatsoaked and it was hot, but I'm happy overall because I saw gains through out the powerband.

What did you add to get those gains or was this all from a re-tune?

The only mods not on my sig are headers and MREV2. I pulled 230 when I got there after a 4hr drive on the tune I already had.
Dave then got to work on my tune and it gained on every pull. I didn't know the tq until the printout.
I've been to other tuners here on the east coast and never saw any gains like this. I either lost hp or gained a little like 2-3hp on a retune.
I plan on going to the shops where I lost hp and gained a little because they are both dynojets and see what I pull. I pulled 241 at one shop and 248 at the other.
The car is so smooth now I recommend Dave at FT to anyone for a tune if you are close.
Here are the graphs no need to mark the before and after.
I plan on going to the track tonight to see if I can better my times on street tires. I did 13.4 on the tune I had before.

Honestly, the MD exhaust>borla and MD spacer>skunk2. He also has test pipes, which in combination with the MD exhaust more than likely makes a 6-8whp advantage. I haven't really seen headers make a difference on a stock cam car. The mrev2 actually tends to lose a few peak whp, but gains substantially in the midrange. I am also not much of a fan of long tube style cold air intakes, but the difference in power should be nominal.
I hope that doesn't come off as an insult, but just give my opinion as to why he made more power.
