Utec hot engine starting issues

I've heard people with Utec have been having problems getting their car to start when the engine is still hot. Is there a fix to this? What was the problem? The reason I ask is because I'm planning on going fi with UTEC tuning. UTEC owners please chime in.

mind sharing how you fixed the problem? Can you program the utec unit to not interfere with the factory ecu at start up? Or can the utec only be programmed at rpm intervals? Thanks for the help.

that's teh problem, the UTEC do not interfere with the stock ecu at startup. The stock ecu is programmed form 380cc injectors and dumps fuel for that size. It doesnt know you have bigger injectors but still tries to dump fuel for the same amount of time, hence flooding the motor (ie hard starts)

some cars are more finicky. Only solution is a stock ECU reflash to tell the car to reduce its injector times.

Thanks for the info. I see why this problem occurs with those people who install larger injectors. How many hp are the stock injectors good for? I see people upgrading to some pretty high flow injectors (600cc) but aren't pushing more than 400whp. Is this necessary. I'm looking at the Turbonetics kit and I believe it has 440cc injectors. Is the output difference small enough to not require a reflash. I may have read that this is the highest injector upgrade you can go for it to not have the starting issue...

If you are looking for big power its good to go with bigger injectors. You might can walk away from hot/cold start
with 440 inj but I don't have a experience with 440 inj, so don't trust me on that.

I'm running 600 inj with utec/reflash ecu. Strdum1 did explain enough about utec.

stock injectors are only good for about 320whp maybe you can push 350 with raising the fuel psi but I would not suggest it

like stated ^ 444 inj will be fine
