262.27 whp, 251.39 wtq ; Plenum, Intake Manifold, HKS Exhaust

Wow... I posted my (somewhat) baseline dyno's yesterday to show what the oil consumption replacement motors might be capable of with a hard break-in and I got so excited I tossed on my port-matched non-revup lower and intake manifold to see what might happen and dyno'd it early the next day.

On day two of dyno'ing I did 8 consecutive runs, in each one the engine pulled harder than the next. I melted my bumper from not letting it cool down! When the engine peaked at 258.46 the guy let the car cool down for 5 minutes and pulled 259.15 whp / 250.99 wtq. We decided to let it cool down for 10 minutes and the car hit 262.27 whp and 251.39 wtq.

Dynos provided below. One has 4 runs showing 2 of my better runs with just exhaust (400 mi on new engine), and 2 of my better runs from today (460 mi on new engine).

Second dyno chart shows 8 of the 14 or so runs, the first six are consecutive with no cooldown periods, there was also a few prep runs at the start that we tossed to prime the ECU. The last two are the runs after the 5 min and 10 min cooldowns, directly after the ones behind it.

The dyno guy speculates that the reason it keeps making more power is because we are further sealing the piston rings with each WOT run and because the engine is so new.

After this experience, I am a believer in hard break-ins... either that or the hand-built vq35de-2 is just that awesome!

The conditions for all the runs today were 67-70 deg F, 29.71 in-Hg, 16% humidity. SAE correction reduced my numbers and was at 0.98

no images...what were the numbers BEFORE you put on the port matched sections?

FYI, it is very common for these motors to gain 5 to 10whp between first and last dynos. It has nothing to do with the rings sealing, but rather the ECU.

Ideally you want a flat A/F curve in the 12:9-13:1 area. Get a tune.
