greddy emanage ultimate
On my previous car (SC 350Z) I used an Utech for the EMS. Now that I have my G that will be TT shortly I'm leaning towards the Osirus. I wanted to know if anyone is using the emanage. How do you like it? Have you ever used another EMS, if so can you do a quick compare and contrast of the two?
Tuners: What's the interface in the Emanage? If someone wanted to learn how to tune, would you recommend the emanage or something else?
Thanks in advance for any good input received

The problem with the Emanage is that you have no control when you are in closed loop (O2 sensor feedback). With it being in open loop you can function and control what you want pretty well, but with closed loop you fight the ECU and youu run the risk of blowing the engine pretty easily from going back and forth between open and closed loops.
Most tuners would recommend using at least a UTEC. The Osiris Tuner option is a great option since you can adjust the ECU code itself and don't have to fight it. Learning to tune will be similar across each platform I would assume, with interface differences and a few changes between systems.

^ Thanks for the info. So what's the perk of running the system in closed loop over open loop? Is it necessary to run the system in closed loop being that the car will be custom tuned based off of the A/F readings? I guess what I'm trying to get at is, once the car is tuned should the EMS need 02 sensor feedback?
closed loop just runs off of O2 sensor feedback and adjusts the tune according to a short term and long term trends. Its really the long term trend that is the problem.
Its necessary for closed loop because you want to make sure that your ECU corrects and doesn't lean/richen the fuel mixture too much. The target values are very different between NA and FI though. FI you want to run much richer for safety reasons.
With piggyback systems & FI you will need a wideband setup anyways, but the problem with the EMU is that your stock ECU will still track short and long term trends and the long term trends typically will fight your piggy back.

If you are going to reflash, might as well reflash for the entire FI tune anyway. Osris can also handle bigger mafs now also and I believe bigger injectors. They have the ability to rescale for both.
Osiris is going to be a better option than piggy back for most applications of FI. Reflashing the ECU would help...but might has well go for the OSIRIS option which will reflash and modify the ECU to do whatever you want it to do. (they dont support my ECU...early 2003

I'm really leaning towards the Osiris. My last experience with the Utec was horrible. Tuners locking them and ****.... I just want something with a good GUI interface that I can funk with. I need some bright colorful graphs, drag and drop options with a good instruction manual. <-- am I asking for too much? LOL
The UTEC is really good in the right hands. What are your HP goals? I think that Osiris is probably the best option for what you are looking to do since you want to do it yourself.
Osiris has a tuner version available but it comes with no base maps or e-tunes unless you buy them. If you have WB O2s, the Cipher diagnostics becomes a pretty powerful data logging device.

Huuum my HP goals. Well, I say it’s 450-460ish but we all know how this goes.
@Jeff
I think the 05 G comes with widebands on the upstream side of the exhaust. Does the Osiris system have the same Diag. tools and data logging devices as the cipher? Aren’t they made by the same company?

Are you building your motor? I wouldn't go over 400-425 without stronger pistons/rods/springs.
04.5 come with semi-wideband O2 sensors. Osiris comes with Cipher as part of the package, yes same company.
Osiris should be goot to 600 whp at least.
Ttrank (sedan moderator) is running his greddy TT setup with a built motor and at 649/651. I'm pretty sure he's running off of the UTEC. His car is his DD.

^ I had the utec on my last car. I didn't like the way the utec transistioned power. It felt like vtec kicking in. I was told that the only way to smooth this power transistion out was to switch EMS.
Then stick with Osiris. Get the tuner version and you can do unlimited tuning yourself. You could still get a E-tune to start with (extra $50) which might not be bad for a starting point to tune with.
