Dyno Tune Gains

I went up to get my car dynoed and tuned on Saturday and was a little dissappointed in the outcome of my numbers. It was done in Houston on a Dyno Dynamics machine. My mods are listed below. Oh, and I didn't turn my VDC off during the tune and maybe thats why the numbers seem a little lower, but I didn't that that would matter that much. Let me know what you guys think.

So gains were about 10hp/10tq? Hard to tell exactly from the graph only.

That's why I chose to spend money first in brakes/suspension/tires and save for the big BANG!

Anyone with a helpful comment for the OP? What numbers should he have reasonably expected? I've seen claims of 20-30 with a tune and not-too-dissimilar mods.

Seriously now,

I run the cobbaccess and I have seen a max increase of 25 whp, but again I have ported cyl heads and some other goodies. You should check if the car is running properly or if there is something wrong with it, with those mods you should be seeing close to 250whp.

So does it matter that the VDC was left on? How do I check to see if the car is running properly internally? It feels fine to me.

I think theres a list of things to check prior to dyno a car I don't know maybe people can chime in I would check the following:

Check the compression on the cylinders
Check the spark plugs
Oil level
COolant level
O2 sensors
Catalytics
Intake filter
Check OB2 diagnostics and see if there were any codes recently
Fuel filter

If it were me I would probably do all of these BEFORE going to the dyno. otherwise it will be money wasted if there was a problem with the car.

I guess I should have brought it to my mechanic to run some tests on it prior to the dyno?

Maybe the dyno was under rated as I ran a low 14 1/4 mile at the track...

well if your car is running properly as you described then it shouldn't have anything wring, I guess it was just not the best run.

maybe you should have reseted the ECU before the DYNO especially if youve been driving around with the mods for some time

I resetted the ECU about 3 days prior. Have you dynoed your car Skyline?
