Can i sell my used Osiris EMS?

Im not too familiar with Osirus but ive decided i would be willing to sell it for some extra cash. im not really interested in performance anymore and i would prefer to spend my time and money with function and appearance. But can i sell a used Osirus? is it just a box like a piggyback or what. i dont even know where to look, is it plugged into my ECU?

It is your ECU. It is a reflash service and there is nothing tangible to sell unless you buy a replacement stock ECU and sell the modified one.

If you simply got a reflash. I'd say no.

If you have the actual Uprev cable / CD, you can sell it. You reflash your ecu back to stock. I forget if you have to unmarry the cable to your car. The new buyer contacts uprev and pays a re-license fee. Around $500-$100

even if you don't have the software, you own the license.

Yes, you can sell it... contact UpRev for information about transferring the license to new owner.

If you don't have a cipher cable and the full tuner package I doubt you can transfer anything to anyone else.

From what I can tell there is only one person in this thread other than op that even has Osiris... yet there continues to be mis-information posted.

OP - as I stated previous, you can sell the license... cantact UpRev for details...

For thoseb hat are unfamiliar - once you own the Osiris license you can get it tuned, re-tuned multiple times anywhere (of course you'll pay for tuning time but that has nothing to do with the paying additional for software). Having the tuning software is not the same as having the license.

The license is moved from ECU to Cipher cable and vice versa...without the cable I would be curious to know how he would transfer the license to someone else?

I'm not saying you're wrong, but I'm asking out of pure curiosity.

^^^ as stated previously (twice), the person selling the used license needs to contact UpRev - they facilitate the process... they will send a stock flash (and whatever verification process they use) - there is a nominal fee (very cheap compared to price for new), I have no idea what the fee is these days because the entire platform is much cheaper than it was when I got mine...

Bottom line is: Yes you can sell it and to do so you much contact UpRev.

There really isn't anything further that will help OP. That's all he needs - to do what this thread is about.

If you have the cable = yes.

How I know? Because I actually sold one and have already contacted Uprev about that exact process

If the OP has a reflash ONLY(ie gets it flashed at a tuner and doesn't buy the Cipher communications cable), it becomes more unclear. There's no way to remove the flash unless you go back to the place that flashed it. IMHO, the license is on the cable, not the flash itself. Because if you bought the cable, you can get a reflash to any G/Z that cable supports.

You don't need cipher cable to own Osiris license. You don't need to go back to the same place that flashed your ecu to get flashed back to stock (this is why you need to go through UpRev).

Furthermore - you don't need to go to the same tuner to reflash even when you keep the license (don't need the cable either)... just make sure the original tuner gives you the identifying info... and obviously other tuner needs cable and software.

So once again - OP simply needs to contact UpRev and yes he will be able to sell it.

There isn't anymore to it.

It would be alot easier if you told us exactly what you have. Do you have the cable and osiris/cipher? If so, the answer is an easy "yes". But you have to reflash your car back to stock to unmarry the cable to your car. Then the buyer can do the steps(w/ UpRev) to relicense the cable and get another reflash for his car.

If you have JUST the reflash, it's not clear yet that you can actually sell JUST the reflash. The consenus on the 350z board is that you cannot. http://my350z.com/forum/tuning/49914...ml#post8634648

If you have a custom flash to your specific car, then selling it might be a good idea anyway. If it's a generic reflash you might have a chance.

ULTIMATELY, contacting UpRev would be the best move. I've emailed them but haven't got a reply. But I asked this question on the Z board on your behalf.

^^^ he can not sell the re-flash, as it is specific to the car. He would be selling the Osiris license and the new owner would get a re-flash... the current owner would be flashed back to stock - all of which needs to be facilited thru UpRev.

OP have you contacted UpRev?
