Tunning 600cc Deatschwerks injectors with Osiris
Well, I'm pretty new to the whole tuning thing but I have learned a lot so far. I have been in and out of quite a few threads and I have a friend that tunes Honda's for a living and he has been giving me some pointers. To start out, I have a 04 G35 Coupe. My questions is what would be easiest way to tune new larger injectors using osiris/uprev (mainly from a idle stand point)? When my car idles, the AFR jumps over 1 AFR sometimes between 2 and 3 AFR. It can vary from 12.2-15.5AFR. My latency data sheet I recieved with my injectors said that at 14v I should be at 1.4 latency. I have set it at that and tuned the K fuel multiplier down. I have left the injectors latency at 1.4 and moved the K fuel multiplier to where the car was leaning out to dieing and going under 10 rich with everything in between. I have moved my latency numbers from .2 - 2.2 with no success. Another question I had on the Real Time Tuning. It allows me to change the latency of the injectors when the Rom Editor tuning is actived, and when I move it from .2 to 2.2 it doesn't change my AFR like it isn't changing anything in the way the ECU is reading the injectors. Shouldn't my AFR be changing?
Before I go any farther, I have a vortech supercharger installed. I installed it myself with the new injectors and was able to tune it enough to drive it. My friend and I tuned timing and fuel enough to actually hit full boost while I waited for my tune date, but we couldn't get the idle to level out.. We took it to get tuned and even after tuning it my idle was still messed up when I figured it would have been fixed. It is a very reputable place that should have been able to fix it. When I made it back home after hours of driving back, I was able to hook my cipher cable up and see what was all changed. Well, to my astonishment it appears to be the same latency/k fuel multiplier as the stock injectors. I could have kept the tune I and my friend did and saved my $800 I spent on the new maf sensor and tune and invested it in water/meth and a smaller pulley with a dyno to tune myself with.
Is anyone else with these 600cc injectors having this problem, or do you have a smooth idle staying pretty close to the same number?
If you have any advice, I would appreciate it greatly. If you have any questions I will gladly answer them. We are about to do the water/meth install and 2.87 pulley but I want to be able to tune it correctly when we do. Right now when I do a pull with the tune from the tuners my AFR numbers are mid 10's mid rpm and lean out to 11 by peak.
