Osiris rev limiter

Hey guys.. I'm waiting on the standard package from Osiris n will tune through e tune until I get my turbo kit so I can save some $$ on the Dyno. Is it ok to get ur rev limiter bumped up to 8k?? Or is that too high with stock internals?

I just currently picked up another vq35de with 30,000 on it.
It was burning oil n I got the hook up for 250.00 cuz my boy runs the service dep. at a local Infiniti dealership. Now I can slowly build what I want.. I plan on getting that 4.2 stroker kit from gtm....

But in the mean time.. Wat is a safe rev limiter for stock (just bolt ons)???
Thanks!

stock plus +200 or 300. I forget what stock redline is. Generally power either drops or stops climbing near redline. So unless you built up the head not much more to gain.

Agreed I'm not sure the year of your car but mine is a 2003 non-revup and mine was set +200 with Osiris to 6800. From what I heard its possible with the non revups to have issues with the valves floating if you go too far past 7k. Without head work done of course. Plus unless you have a bit turbo you aren't making power way up there anyway.

How do you know if your valves are floating?

yea i'm a 05 auto. i think i'm 6700 or 6800 redline. normal DE motor as well.

power after 6500 seems more horiziontal if anything, least thats what i gather from looking at a few dyno sheets.

6800 is the DE non-revup rev limit. I believe the DE revup motor rev limit is at 7100 or 7200.

Ive bumped mine up to 7200, but I never take mine up that high. Usually I get it shifting at 6800-7000.

I just wanna know how one will know if your valves are floating?

Personally I wouldn't take a non revup to 7000 just because it stops making power. Run it on a dyno and shift when it stops making power... that's going to make you faster. Only exception I would say would be the last gear in a drag race when you can't afford the momentary powerloss from shifting, but thats only because I'm 6MT. For an auto I'd get a transgo shift kit installed then bang another gear right at the RPM that power started to drop off

I have mine set at the stock rev limit (revup). On the Dyno, I don't make power past 6800 rpm so it's pointless. There is also no way I can cross in 3rd gear at the strip. With simple mods and no tune, I trapped at 105, which is too high for 3rd (stock 3.5 diff).
