Uprev liense is voided if ECU is replaced

My friend has bought and used uprev for a while.
His ECU might need to be replaced
He called Uprev and was told that the liense is voided if ecu is replaced

what do you guys think?

That all depends on the agreement put out by Uprev. If their agreement says per ECU no matter what, a failed ECU is your friends problem and Uprev can't check that.

Well considering that the license is stored on the ECU if you replace the ECU without removing the license of course its "void".

Makes logical sense. Sucks but those are the risks you take when modifying a car.

Replace ECU, buy new license, realize that sh*t happens when modding, and enjoy car.

If the ECU is crashed and you're unable to reflash it you CAN ship it to Uprev and they will try to recover the license, not guaranteed to work tho.

If you're strapped over $300, you shouldn't be wasting money on a car in the first place.

Having read the thread from My350Z I'm not convinced his ECU is bad. After cleaning the throttle body he has idle issues, that's where I'd look first...Gary

that's what we thought too but we ran out of options. He lives in dallas and I live in Houston so Im trying to help as much as I can over the phone lol
even though Im a noob too.
I've searched all over the place and found this one guy on youtube has the same issue.
That guy even replaced TB without any luck. Finally that guy replace ECU and idle is back to normal.
So we are just brainstorming to prepare for the worst
For now we still don't know what the cause of the weird idling...
