This may sound like a dumb question but what kind of mods would be considered Stage 1? I have simple mods right now like CAI, Oil Catch Can, Axelback and Lowering springs. Just a simple definition of a Stage 1 part would be very useful.

Stages aren't a thing on this platform mostly because it's all or nothing with the VQ35 and the HP/dollar ratio is terrible compared to most other performance cars. The engine modification path pretty much goes from mild to wild:
Bolt-ons > Full bolt-ons/tuned (~+30 whp) > Built internals Turbo > Engine swapped

Stuff you can look into: Sway bars, MREV2 (if rev-up), intake spacer, high flow cats
