Want to start tuning
Hello, this is my first thread so please be nice.
I wanted to tune my G35 on my own as my father knows how to tune but is out of the country currently and I have no way to contact him. I want to learn the basics as he showed me some time ago, but I need a way to connect my car to my laptop. I know there really expensive way to tune the car but I am pretty broke so I just want to shoot some flames or make it pop. Is there any connectors on amazon for cheap??
PS I want to start tuning other cars so I would like something that could do a lot of cars, if not that's okay.

That's not exactly how it works. 3rd party software engineers essentially reverse engineer the OEM software to figure out how to interface with it. Then they manufacture a proprietary interface cable designed to work with their software. To access it requires a digital license.
There are no free options, there are no cheap options. UpRev is basically the only (best option) game in town so you will need their cable, their software, and a digital license to access their product.
Every manufacturer has their own aftermarket support for cracking the computer, there is no "one shoe fits all" for tuning cars. Some of the big software tuners like HP Tuners will handle a wide array of vehicles but you still need to buy licenses since the license transfers TO THE CAR when you tune them.
You should have a nice long conversation with your father about this.
