no, sorry - I don't have b-4 and aft with just ECU... when I did the TS ECU I had several other mods installed between the previous and next dyno, so the results don;t reflect ECU alone

Not sure what details you are after - but I'd gladly to you what I can... There are far more experienced and knowledgeable people out here than me though... I've been lucky to make good choices based on two primary things: 1) It's in my nature to research the hell out of whatever I get involved with and 2) developing a friendship with DaveO - the guy is a wealth of knowledge when it comes to VQ motors... I was lucky enough to pick his brain from day one so it made avoiding bad decisions easier.

Let me know what details you are after and I'll provide. As far as your first statement in your post: "i wonder if this may be the last mod i do before i stop modding."…. I highly, HIGHLY doubt it!!!

what can the expected gains be with the na mods i have(sig below).....if anyonw with similiar mods have done the reflash, please share....thanks.

edit: topspeed headers, unorthodox crank pulley, 1/2"md plenum spacer, ztube w/kn panel filter, y-pipe, and z-mid pipe.....

would a solid gain of 15-20 hp too optimistic after flash?

Are you asking if Ztube and mid-pipe with an ECU flash will give you 15-20hp gain from stock?... if so - no, I highly doubt it... I might not understand your question correctly though.

Yes, with ztube, zmidpipe AND topspeed headers, unorthodox crank pulley, 1/2"md plenum spacer, kn panel filter, what gains can be expected with technosquare reflash?

Oh... some of those mods weren’t in your sig... it seems you question though is what gains strictly form ECU flash... I think you have seen/felt the gains you are going to get - however the TS ECU will adjust your A/F to optimize the mods you have... I believe it will advance your timing (if not already done - my dealer did mine prior to TS)... you will notice quicker throttle response (that's what I noticed most) - it will bump up the rev limiter and omit the speed limiter... All in all the sum of your mods will be enhanced but I don’t know that you will see/feel a notable gain in TQ or HP - maybe slight but not true WOW!!! factor.

Do a search and see if there are some before and after dyno's... it's not likely because most people (like me) have before dynos then add mods AND ECU Flash before dyno'ing again. So it's hard to tell how much the mods did and how much was ECU. As far as bang for the buck, ECU is low on my list... however - if you are spending time and money on the mods you have, there's no reason not to get the ECU flash to tie it all together.

You know my mods codeflux - we've been in the same performance threads before... I don’t have anything unusual... Stillen CAI with Z-Tube sprayed with thermal coating, Stillen exhaust, Motordyne 1/2" spacer and iso-thermal kit (manual coolant valve), 170F thermostat, TS ECU F-flash... that's about it for engine performance... other than that I have Stillen anti sway bars (set at med/med), and Stillen grounding wires. And a bunch of "unique" aesthetic mods... I run synthetic 5W30 engine oil (tried Mobile 1, Royal Purple and AmsOil - will stick to AmsOil), Mobile 1 synth gear oil... uummmm.... can’t think of anything else.

yeah, buddy - i know all about your grey ghost.

first time i had F-spec reflash i came back pinging. had it reflashed to L-spec.

i didn't have headers/cats at the time... now i have crawford headers/cats/plenum, weapon-r intake (going back to pop-charger and z-tube though), fujitsubo y-pipe and legalis-r exhaust. so, yes, full range of breather mods.

now i have two options: part out completely to get ready to sell, or leave all breather mods on and get F-spec reflash to complete the car, then sell.

i wonder if Technosquare's Crawford reflash is going to work on my car without pinging...

p.s. no, not selling yet, but likely within a year.

p.p.s. also have stillen valve body upgrade, but i doubt it make any difference for this discussion.

I have heard of cars pinging with the Crawford F-flash, but mine hasn't... If you can get your car to TS they will tinker with it and tweak it for a couple hund (that's what Brian told me when I was there last, but I've been told he doesn’t work there anymore so I don't know for sure)... I've been considering taking mine back and asking them to tweak a bit... my A/F is slightly lean but I intend to get cats and possibly lower collector so I'm waiting.

What’s you impression of the Crawford cats?… I haven’t heard anything bad – but I always like to ask those that know. I have tossed the idea of headers because I haven’t been able to justify the cost – what are your thoughts? - since you have them….

if i had to do it again, i would not get crawford headers. install is too expensive. i would get something like topspeed headers or something. as far as cats go, they are about the best cats you can get.

Regardless of brand - what are your thoughts on headers and cats in general... would you do them again? Is it worth it to do headers at all?... Is it worth it to do cats without headers... or is it not worth the $$$ to do either? As of now I’m leaning toward Crawford cats and not bothering with headers… originally I was set on cats and headers but just haven’t been able to find convincing dyno or opinions that give my brain a green light on it…

BTW - I like Brian too, good guy... Tadashi is still there, and he primarily does the tuning. I was told Brian went to Performance Nissan...

i would definitely do headers and cats - if you can find them for a good price. buy them from another member or something. they net a great performance gain. they can, however, introduce some buzzing. if you already have a loud exhaust, that may not be a big deal, but with relatively quiet fujitsubo, it's a slight annoyance. my cats buzz when cold - goes away after a few minutes of driving. but it's worth it.
