Speed Racer 5000 Rally!!!!!

Dear Driving Enthusiast,

To celebrate the upcoming release of the Speed Racer movie (May 9), I have planned a special, one-time-only driving event called the SPEED RACER 5000 RALLY which will start in Austin and continue along some of the most exciting roads in the hill country.

The destination will be a drive-in movie theater -- one of the few left in Texas -- where the Rally participants and friends will gather to watch the new Speed Racer movie on the big screen under the stars.

The SPEED RACER 5000 RALLY will be limited to 20 sports cars and sedans. However, there will likely be more cars to meet the Rally group at the beginning and at the end. As the name implies, the objective is to bring together a special group of cars whose total horsepower will exceed 5,000 horsepower (which is the horsepower rating of Speed Racer's Mach 5 race car.)

The Rally will be kicked off when our head cheerleader announces, "Gentlemen! Start your engines!" and all the cars are started at once, bringing 5,000+ horsepower alive all at one time. The roar should be impressive and unforgettable.

Our great friends and die-hard driving enthusiasts Bo Rivers, the owner of the brand new private Harris Hill Road (HHR) track in San Marcos, and Eric Beverding, Bo's partner at HHR, have made a very generous donation to this event: Three half-day pass will be given away to three lucky participants of the Rally (one pass for each winner). And -- get this! -- each winner will be allowed to invite a guest (with their guest's own car) to join the winner for four (4) hours of unlimited and private access to their track.

As far as I know, this kind of access and privilege is only available to private members of the track. I am truly grateful for Bo and Eric's donation and support of our Rally.

For those of you who didn't have a chance to visit HHR during the last Stampede, it is the most fun track in Texas with lots of elevation changes and several high-speed turns. We had a ball driving it when it was very wet, I can't imagine the fun to be had when it is dry. And their memberships are the most affordable I have seen for a first class facility like theirs. Check out their web site to find out more about HHR. And, if you can make the time, go and meet Bo and Eric and see their track. Bo and Eric are very approachable, just down-to-earth car guys like you and me. In my opinion, that is one of the primary reasons their track is so different and more fun than other tracks.

Okay, back to the SPEED RACER 5000 RALLY...Check out the program and all that is included at the web site. Registration is required and there is a registration fee.

Lets get together at least 5,000 horsepower to rock Austin and roar through the hill country!

I look forward to seeing you on May 17th.

Happy Motoring.

The Tourmaster

P.S. Even if you can't join us for the Rally, it would be great if you joined us at the Rally kick-off in Austin (where we will have lunch) or for dinner and the movie at the end.

it was great seeing you guys. as usual, it was a fun drive...even with a little rain. Speed Racer was better than expected too.

I'm looking forward to the next drive now that I've copied you!
