The Bimmer tuners have 2 national events: M-fest, and the massive Bimmerfest. And they both had committees to arrange these types of things. (sidenote: these were both held in West Coast)

theres alot of money involved that went into shirt production, reserving a hotel, product showcase, music, models, security. M-fest even had a chopper to take photos/videos over head.

Im not saying any of those are a necessity, but if you're going to try to pull some of the dudes cross-country; they'd have to be at least be interested in going. Props to you for trying to get the ball rolling, but you need a National fund, to work on a national scale.
I think if we want to do something of that scale, we would need to incorporate ALL nissans.

If vegas is going to be the meet. By any chance. I can try and get a spot vacant for all the cars at the Thomas and Mack stadium at UNLV. I go to UNLV and also work for Thomas and Mack. I can try and arrange it just need a heads up to talk to them.
thankss

you guys should definitely contact Nissan/Infin of North America and see what they can offer. Maybe have them bring down their 2010 line-up or a new prototype car. Once you get them, then you can get sponsors from stillen, vortech, and so on. They'll each have a booth, to unveil their products in production/testing and can even show off their IP cars, drift cars.

I am I assume some of the guys here are sponsored, so why not talk to their sponsors and have them come out for a national event.

An event like this, could have major potential to build relations between the vendors and their consumers. Everyone wins.

Not only vendors. Im sure there is alot of people locally that will sponsor as well. Ask beer companies like Budweiser or Miller. And then set up booths and charge them a booth fee to have their booth there. Im sure people will need food as well etc... This will help pay for the expenses and maybe have money left over for the next week. Since the amount of cars are going to be alot we need a big venue. No one will give any venue for free since they have to clean up afterwards.
I think it would be a great idea to do it once a year and make it west one year and east the other year. Or keep it bi-annually. Winter in West and Summer in the east since it gets hot in vegas in the summer time. Or Vice Versa

Meeting biannually, east coast and west coast would be cool. Or at least make a good stepping stone until we can meet in the middle. None of this is going to happen without a committee to organize it though. We need people who are good at pulling stuff together, G35Driver staff, club presidents (event organizers whatever) to step up and say: "I've helped organize __________, and I would be willing to help with this event"

this is exactly right.

Everyone that keeps saying "suck it up and drive" - what really needs to happen is regions that have not held a big meet need to! There is zero true indication that there will be a turn out. People keep ragging on the "majority" poll responses by saying "Drive Farther"... but no one has ever shown that any other region can bring lots of people out. Forum lists mean nothing in the "real" of things.

So instead of b!tching about why the majority wont sacrifice - just plan a regional meet and show that there is enough involvement to lead up to bigger meets in the future.

For all those that keep referencing other big car/motorcycle gatherings; those didn't start as big as they are today - they GREW that big. How about one big central regional meet first - then try to get the rest of the county to join you

Personally, until I see a 100 car central meet, I have no reason to believe there will be enough presence in a national meet held in central area. Why in the world would 100-200 west coast cars drive to the middle of the country to meet with a dozen other cars? Set up a big regional meet and go from there.

This is why im saying making it a bi-annually thing. People who want to come to west form the east can and vice versa. It will become more regional since its east and west. This way people in the east dont feel left out and the people in the west dont either. Both will have their meets. And then make it a BIG central meet when things get rolling. Thats true we need a committee and initial funds to start out with. Also need to know the scale of the east and west coast meets to choose proper venues.

100? For a Coastal meet, I want to see a MINIMUM of 500 cars... G35NYC alone has had several 100+ car meets in the past.

coastal? I said central.... West coast has 2-3 100+ car meets per year too... that wasn't the point of the post. You misread... instead of taking a portion out of context, maybe read the whole post and what it is relaying...
