A Navigation Question...
A Navigation Question...
OK, I swear I read what I think are the relevant pages in the navigation manual, but I could not find the answer to something. When you are in map view, and you see the icons (restaurants, etc.), how do you get to see what specific establishment each icon represents? In the Honda, you put the cursor over the icon and push the enter button, but when I tried that in the G, the car wanted to map a route, and it didn't even give me the name of the place at that point. Any help would be appreciated.
By the way, my favorite line from the manual is: "It is not possible to search for a route from the continental United States to Hawaii."

I don't think this car does it... you can search nearby POIs and it will tell you all the details and show you in a map (I like that you can even call the place from that screen), but I don't think it shows you any info from the mapping screen.
I tried it before and even thought it was something with the birdview/plan view, but I never got it to show me anything. As soon as you touch the screen it just thinks you're setting a destination instead of wondering about the POI.
