I have the 08 g35. I also have an 80G iPod with a whole lot of artists/songs. Scrolling through to get to an artist starting with S for example takes a long time. Is there a short cut or speed up. With the iPod alone the scrolling speeds up.... but not with the car interface. Any thoughts?

bostonmerlin on the G37 forum came up w/ a workaround. Basically, you would just create 27 genres comprised of letters A through Z and then # for artists names that start with a #. You then go into iTunes, sort by artist, change the genre for all artists starting with the letter A to genre "A", B to genre "B", etc.

When all is done, you will have all of your artists sorted alphabetically under genre.

Then, when you use the iPod controls on the G35, instead of looking up artists by "artists" you would just go into genre and pick the artists through your 27 letter and number genres.

This works, but you would obviously lose the usefulness of having your music arranged by genre.

 

seems like a lot of work.... i'd just deal with the slow scrolling
