Video with i-phone?

Has anyone successfully used their i-phone to play video on the NAV screen? When I try (yes, in Park and with the parking brake on) I get no picture, but the sound works. I've tried several different cables and none of them work.

my guess is its the same as the video ipod, in which case in the video settings you have to select the tv output option for it to play... hope that works

the firmware for the ipod/ipod touch is not the same as for the iphone.
on the iphone go to, settings -> General -> About -> Version
it will ether be
1.0.2
1.1.1
1.1.2
1.1.3.
you need 1.1.2 or higher to play video in ur G.
is the Iphone hacked with ibricker?

I know for my ipod touch I had to by these cables:

http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPL...nplm=MB129LL/A

They go into the dock at the bottom. I think apple is making people buy these with their new ipod video products (ipod touch)...

It's not the cables... the car is pre-configured not to display video from the aux source unless it's stopped and the e-brake is engaged. Sound should work fine

And discussions about how to bypass this limitation are forbidden by the admins.

Dude did you even read the original message???? He said..."When I try (yes, in Park and with the parking brake on) I get no picture, but the sound works. I've tried several different cables and none of them work."

I had the same problem. The new Iphone and Ipod touchs can't use regular RCA cables. No one is talking about a bypass here.

Ah... it's so common to get the "video doesn't work" question that I assume almost automatically that they're talking about that...

As far as Apple and their new cable ****, they can die in a fire.

But I just picked up an iPhone too... gonna go see about these newfangled cables even though I have all kinds of other sources already in the car.

Thats what worked for me...If you were in Nashville I would've let you borrow mine to see what I was talking about...Try 'em if not you can always return the cables.

Lol...you can always order it online. Might just cost a little more with shipping though.

Yes, you need a "special" iPhone video-out cable. I bought a video-out cable for my iPod, which works great when the parking break is engaged. However, the same cable does not work with my iPhone (works for iPhone audio, but not video). I love Apple products, but man they **** me off with the nickel and diming stuff.

Is the hardware in the cable actually different or is it just that that damn little hole is small on the i-phone and normal cables can't plug all the way down?
