JL Audio Clean Sweep Package
JL Audio Clean Sweep Package
As some of you know I plan on putting an aftermarket sound system into the car and have been doing some research. I plan on sticking with the OEM head unit since it looks good and I don't feel like spending $1700 on an Eclipse double-din head unit. There have been good reviews on the clean sweep package being able to flatten out the frequencies...what do you guys think about this product?
I actually own a JL Clean Sweep that I haven't installed in my car. I researched the product and I thought it was a good way to go. I felt that an aftermarket head unit wouldn't integrate well with the dashboard, nav, etc. I didn't want to loose the functionality with my "upgrade". So anyway, I think the clean sweep is cool but I can't give you any information on how well it works. If I get mine in before you do I'll let you know. I currently don't know when I'll get around to it though.
Good luck!
Good luck!
Someone measured the frequencies of the 1st gen Bose headunit and they are pretty much flat i.e. no equalization. It is somewhere on the forum. If this holds true for the 2nd gen unit, then you don't need clean sweep if you tap the headunit output before it enters the bose amp in the trunk. You may need to use a unit like PAC OEM2 to help if you amp is not capable of accepting the hu signal. I did this and it sounds pretty good.

Sorry, Should of ask if there were any kits available to put an aftermarket radio period. Really want to upgrade the sound system in the car but don't want to do it with the OEM radio.
