Usually when you swap out just some of the stock speakers, the result isn't good. Stock, the speakers are "matched." When you swap just some of them, the system won't necessarily sound right.

Plus, stock systems tend to have a wierd ohm load.

You're better off adding speakers (sub, etc.).

the mids are amazing and I wouldnt want to touch the speakers but improved lows and highs would be nice
tweeters: 1" soundstorm STW-20 x4
Sub: 12" Pioneer TS-W307D2 (cheap but good alternative to JL)

Don't swap Bose speakers - the Bose Amp signal to the speakers is equalized for mostly mids, you won't hear much difference unless you swap the amp too and just use factory wiring.

you can't just swap out the speakers on the bose system. you will need to install something like this to clean-up the signal for your new speakers.

it gets expensive! I just added a sub to the Bose System & called it a day.

+1

It would be ideal to swap out everything, but like stafna said....it gets pricey

It gets pricey and what are your goals for sound?

As far as sound quality goes, the stock stereo and bose sound pretty good IMO. They just need a bit more bass IMO. (added sub) and highs if you prefer.

Unless you're going for something seriously loud, then you'd want to start from scratch.
