Talking iphone

Is anyone running an iphone in their G sedan. I am in the market for a new phone, but I want something that will have good conductivity with the car. Also if you plug it into the interface does it charge and will the car access the music. It would be nice to only carry one devise with me all day.
Thanks,
Steven

I used to be able to access my iPhone music while connected to my iPod jack. But it doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure if it was an iPhone update that broke it or what.

Anyone else seeing this?

Does it work if you press the ipod icon on the screen? I have a radio with a dock and it has to be on ipod screen to work.

What happens if you plug your iphone into the car. I have an 08 so it has the integration built in. I am curious if I will be able to replace my ipod with an iphone.

I have an '08 with premium package (iPod integration) and I plugged my friends iPhone in (not 3G) to charge and we were able to play his music just like a regular iPod - hope that helps

here's a pic of my setup (2005)..

https://g35driver.com/forums/showthr...ight=iphone+3g

It's the 1st gen Iphone and it charges while it plays music\videos. I can control the volume and go up\down on tracks.

The bad thing is I was thinking about getting the 3g Iphone but I've been reading they changed the way it charges making my current setup, half functional allowing the music to play but no more charging.

I will probably wait until an adapter comes out then decide if the 3g is worth it.

My '07 will charge my iPhone (1st gen iPhone), and play music through the RCA jacks.

I just tried my IPHONE 3G in my '08 G35X. WIll not charge and I get an error on the Iphone saying this accessory is not made to work with the Iphone. BUT It works great to the extent that it controls the IPOD functions and displays all of the music bye artist, album, etc. The thing I don't like is that it put the Iphone into airplane mode so you won't receive any calls.

Also on the bluetooth front, you can't transfer any contact info. With the last firmware version you can't listen to your voice mail via the voicemail button in the phone application. You can however dial your voicemail using the keypad and hold the "1" until it connects. It does send your voicemail password automatically.

I read the problem with the voice mail was not there prior to version 2.0.2 (the latest) of the firmware. I know I for 1 have sent an EMAIL to Apple to fix this and I have read many other users doing the same.

The bluetooth for making calls works great. My last phone, a Verizon RAZR2 V9M, would dial from my phone book BUT I could never hear any audio when it went to connect. I would have to turn the phone off then on again to get it to work right.
