Navi Problems

I don't know if I'm doing something incorrectly or the addresses I put in are obscure, but so far my navigation system did NOT recognize 3 house numbers I put in:

1) was for the house I lived in for over 20 years
2) apartment I just bought (in pre-war building at least 50+ years old)
3) friend's apartment building

All three locations are in New York City or right outside of it in Long Island. Am I doing something wrong? I hit DEST, enter house #, city, then street, and the navi says data on that location isn't available. I have to manually find the specific location on the map and have it designated as my "home" destination. The navi system finds the street and city fine, but can't find or recognize specific house or apartment building numbers...

Have you set the system to use the proper maps? I had to change mine before i could use it properly, original owner was from the NE so any address i input was being pulled from that location.

It turned out not to be the regional settings, but instead the way I input the address. For instance, if the address is 252-05, and I entered 25205, it won't recognize it! Does this apply to everyone else as well? Pretty lame if you ask me, I've never had this problem w/ Garmin or any other nav...

You actually liek the G Navi better that TL-S navi? Why is that? I find the Acura navi way more intuitive and not only can it be controlled while driving, the vocie activation is much faster. The G you nseem to have to wait for each prompt to finsh then say it, the Acura you can keep hitting the button and say the next menau comand before it finishes reading the choices. Also the Acura navi has liek 10 catagoies, the G only seems to ever display 5. The TL screen is about an inch bigger and being closer to you makes it seem even bigger.

^ Yes i do like the G navi better, for ME its easier to use (once you select the reduce feedback option) its very intuitive, i dont have to wait, for me its perfect(i did get an update(TSB) about 6months ago for voice commands that made thes system faster as it has less feedback) and the G has MUCH better graphics and design, but yes the TL navi screen is big and close that i like but i sill like the G navi better, Sorry...
