Not sure which exact connections you need on the laptop side, but I like the retractable zip-linq cables.

I am not 100%, but I would guess for audio portion it would be headphone to RCA (1/8" male to Y RCA males), and a VGA to RCA for the video. I would take your laptop to a radio shack and show them what outputs you have on it and explain you are looking to plug into a stereo RCA inputs and RCA video input.

This is what would work.

You'll have to have your parking brake on for it to work as well.

Just curious though, what advantage would you have going from a 15" laptop screen that's on your lap to a 7" screen in the middle of the car?

The link is S-video cables and RCA audio.

The car doesn't have S-video inputs and I doubt the computer has RCA audio outputs.

FWIW, I use the headphone to RCA cables ($5 at radioshack) to hook up my ipod. Works perfectly for the audio side. And the audio isn't blocked when you're driving like the video is.
