I had an 07 G with Nav and when I wanted to dial a voicetag from my phonebook, I would press the phone button and say "Phonebook 'name of person I wanted to call' "

It was a 2year lease so when it was up I got a great deal on an 08 G with Nav. I set up the phonebook with voicetag's and selected minimize voice feedback as an option as I don't want to hear all the nav instructions every time I want to call someone. The difference is in the 08 when I press the phone buttom and say "Phonebook" it cuts me off right there and the system says "say a name from the phonebook or pick a number." I can't simply press the phone button and say "Phonebook Joe" to dial Joe. I have to say phonebook, then wait for the system to ask me to say a name or pick a number and then I can say Joe. Is there a way to just say "phonebook Joe" and have it dial the number?

I have searched the settings and don't see where I can shut this off. Any advice?

you don't need to say phonebook at all...
In fact dial or call are optional as well.

I push the button & just say 'home' & it asks "call home?" > 'yes' & it dials.
