Nav/Climate/Audio Failure

I was out on Friday parked the car in the garage did what I needed to do and when I came back something odd happened. I hit the start button and no Infiniti logo, no climate control, no audio controls, nothing.. the status screen came up (the basic grey one) but there was nothing in it. I had no control of the climate, audio, or navi systems. Turned off the car, and restarted it 2 times.. nothing same thing.

Turn off the car, got out of the car, walked away and waited for the headlights to turn off. Unlocked car, started car, all was fine. Everything seems ok now but it was really strange to have that happen. Should have it triggered a fault code? Since it hasn't happened again I doubt i can reproduce it for a dealer, but has anyone seen something like this happen?

The audio blinked this morning, but im not sure if it was a related problem or my iPod just skipped, the display never turned off or acted strange, the audio just stopped for a split second and then kept playing. My car is a 08 G35 Navi/Premium/Sport/Tech

Thanks
Ed

I had something similar happen to me but I didn't test as much as you. I just went to work and problem cleared up when I went home. Hasn't happened since so i kind of just considered it water under the bridge. I will follow this thread in case it turns out to be fixable.

My symptoms were no radio, A/C on but not controlable, screen was blank, no other controls worked including steering wheel controls.

The same problem happens to me more than 2 times already but it seems as if the system just needs to reboot I've just learned to just deal with it drive and maybe 5-10 minutes later it'll just reboot on it's own

This is a known issue. I had it happen 4 times. Dealer replaced my Nav unit. No issue since.

Well I took it in and got it back within a few hours. They did ITB09-004A update to it, the update desciption basically explains the situation and my VIN fell within the range. I did get a slight update on the map software, but its just a later date in to 08 and not the 09 maps.
