The new iPhone 3.0 update is supposed to offer bluetooth functionality for the iPod connection to the car.

Has anyone gotten this to work yet? I can't seem to figure it out.
It looks like I still need to connect via cable, which is okay with me, but I like the wireless option if it does work for us.

Thoughts?

I don't think the G has BT Stereo profile...

 

if you have bluetooth on your car you never needed the update to begin with? My brohter has an 09 g37 sedan and he's always been able to use his phone...just gotta pair it first...

 

I think he means so he can listen to music without connecting any wires, not talking on the phone.

As bluestate said, I don't think you can control audio with bluetooth because the g doesnt have the support for bluetooth stereo. .. however I think the phonebook transfer should work now? I haven't updated mine but can somebody check?

Hey Aeson after you updated to 3.0, when you launch the messages app and go to send a text, does the camera icon show up next to the space you type in? For some reason its not showing up on mine...

 

It doesnt show up on mine. I believe that is to send a pic through MMS which is locked until late summer when AT&T decides they want to enable it.

 

Yeah, no option to send photos yet.

I'm gonna try the phonebook transfer. I'm not expecting it to work but it's worth another try.

 

FYI... phonebook still doesn't download correctly.

I downloaded it last night and even though I'm still tinkering with it. Its pretty cool.

 

The MMS fuction will come later this summer. The 3.0 Upgrade has the software for it but AT&T isn't supporting it until mid summer.

 

anyone experience better BT call quality with the 3.0?

 

I don't think the 3.0 update has improved anything with regards to our car's BT interface. It's just the same as before - as far as I can tell. I was fiddling around with the share contact option we now have on the iPhone but Infiniti's weak BT system just doesn't help at all. Still no go as far as I can tell with the contact uploading.

 

Can anyone gimme a good reason YTF AT&T is holding out on this? I mean come on!!!
