Ipod won't connect - 2008 Factory Interface
My ipod doesn't seem to connect when I plug it in. It will charge,m but the head unit isn't recognizing it. It worked fine for the last month, but then I disconnected it, DL'ed a few more songs and when i plug it in, the factory head unit will not recognize it. Doesn't matter how many times I plug it in, start/stop the car etc.
What's going on?

Similar Problem with iPhone 3GS
My iPhone 3GS stopped working with the iPod connector recently as well. When I got the phone, I also bought one of the Scorche adapters so the phone would charge, and all was well. About 3 weeks ago or so, I started getting a message on my head unit saying "There is no song". I can manually play music on the iPhone, and it plays through the car stereo, but the head unit doesn't recognize it and I can't control it with the steering wheel or stereo controls. I've tried it with and without the Scorche adapter, and it doesn't work in either case. My old iPod classic still works fine.
Trying to think if that coincided with an iPhone software update. Can't think of anything.... I'm running iPhone OS 3.1.2.
