Aftermarket Alarm System Questions

Alright, so I'm really wanting to get an aftermarket alarm system so that I can have increased range, 2-way, and remote start.

I've tried to search and read as much as possible but I haven't found answers to the questions I really want answered, so here they are:

1) Is remote start POSSIBLE with our cars because of the Intelligent Key? If it is possible, does the Intelligent Key still work the same way?

2) Is there a way to put the "chip" from the Intelligent Key into the new Alarm fob so that I don't have to carry the big *** Infiniti key AND a big *** aftermarket key fob thing?

Those are my two main concerns, impart your knowledge upon me!

From the research I've done......
1.) Yes
2.) Yes(they actually hide the entire intelli-key inside the car, and you use the aftermarket remote.

Also, from the research I've done, I would highly highly recommend taking your car to someone who actually has experience with Infiniti and remote starts.

Good luck.

Yes auto start works fine with our cars and you will still have to carry the fob with AF remote unless you completely change the start system.

btw one of your fobs is used for the install and stays in the car in a special module.

Fantastic! Thanks for your help. So I see you have the Viper 5701, what additional parts would be needed to get that to work with the car? Where did you have it installed? How much was installation?

you definitely need a ikey bypass module http://cgi.ebay.com/1101T-1101-T-DEI-XPRESSKIT-BYPASSKITS-DIRECTED-Bypass_W0QQitemZ180442643615QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20091207?IMSfp=TL091207209003r33830 and thats it. Then you can add as many other alarm modules and auto up/down windows etc.

^ No, the module makes that a dummy key until the remote start is activated form the remote. And if you some how get in and remove the key and try to start the car it still wont start as it would activate the kill switch.

Basically IF the alarm is installed PERFECTLY as per specs its not possible however if the installer tries to take some shortcuts and avoids such safety measures then it might be possible.
