My home made two-piece clip/mount

Hi,

I got this idea from ProClip. Like many of you, I don't like things on my windshield, dash or attached to vents.
I made this from a steel plate and a low cost mount on sale a Canadian Tire for $6. (Type S Universal Holder, Flex Arm)
I spent about a half hour of my time (not including paint drying time of course - 3 coats).
No screws or drilling into the car. It holds great, very sturdy! If it loosens up I will use some double sided tape like the ProClips.
Total cost, about $8.
I think I should respray it in either flat black or a silver/aluminum look.

looks nice! love the innovation, but i think it would be better placed as being flat black imo.

Very Cool, how did you get it in there? Did you just jam it into that gap between the radio and the dash? Wondering how it is staying in place without being screwed in? I know the proclip actually clips onto the molding is that what you did?

I can wedge it into any joint in the dash and it holds very tight.
I added a coat of Plasti-dip and it helps it grip even better...not that it needed it. I painted it again to alter the finish to matte.
Anyway, I have a couple more pics. I don't know what gauge the steel is. I can tell you its about 2mm thick. The front face of it is 2 1/4" x 4" and the short part that goes into gaps is 1/2".

...these pics show it with my BB Torch case velcro'd to it.
