Anyone have a picture of the speaker harness?

Have a 08 sedan.
In the service manual they show the front speakers are hooked up via connectors M5,D1, M124 and D31. I want to find D1 and D31 so I can make a nice clean install.

The part number for the connectors is given as Th40MW
a little searching shows this is a Sumitomo 6098-5291 or possibly a Tyco 1318389-1.

This appears to be a 40 pin connector but the pinout in the service manual shows 55 pins????

Anyone document their install and have a picture of the connector they may be able to share? This would help clear things up?

Thanks

D1 and D31 are huge....they must be at the BCM since they're not behind the head unit...ok nm i don't think they're at the BCM, perhaps under the driverside kick panel....these really don't ring a bell....but i recall seeing a number of harness around the fuse box area...

and what stereo do you have? Bose or non-Bose? Navi?

and what are you trying to install? new speakers? if you're going to run wires from that harness why not just run new wires from the back of the headunit directly? save yourself alot of grief. or from the connectors at the speakers themselves.

Hi. I have a Non-Bose/Base system. Want to connect the speaker wires to a LOC. and from their run RCA's to an Alipine amp etc. I thought it would be easy to find the mating connector to make a nice clean install. Idea was that I could return to stock config quickly when I trade/sell the car. But I think your right it's gona be more trouble then its worth. I prob just cut and splice.

well you can do it without cutting and splicing. i added an LOC to install my sub but i used these things called "posi-taps" so i can remove all my added wiring. the positaps won't damage the wiring.

http://www.posi-lock.com/posiplug.html

i buy em on crutchfield but you could probably find them cheaper elsewhere.
cheers!

Bob
