Free Air Subwoofer for 2007 G35X
So I am doing research on adding a 10 inch subwoofer to my Infiniti G35X and there are several subs that are "free air" meaning they are specifically made for my car that has the cut out in the back deck. check this out from crutchfield.com, http://www.crutchfield.com/p_065G310...s-G310-44.html and in the specs it says that it is Free Air. If I will not buy this one then I am going with Sundown Audio http://www.woofersetc.com/p9262/SA10...-Subwoofer.htm look at the size of the magnet for a 10 inch sub also pushes 600watts. that is pretty nuts. The last question I had is regarding LOC line out converters versus a digital sound processor.

hey welcome to the forum!
first things first, there is a ton of info on this topic on the forum so the search button is your friend!
second things second, in the past free-air subs did not sound as good as their boxed counterparts, whether that's still true i'm not entirely sure but i have to guess that they still aren't up to par. that being said though don't let me discourage you if that's what you want, but i would recommend finding a place where you can listen to one before purchasing it. if i had to pick one i would pick the boston acoustics model, they make amazing speakers.
next up, LOCs...don't buy a sound processor, waste of money for a sub. if you do a quick search on here there should be some threads detailing where and how to hook one up.
let us know if you need more help! enjoy!
Cheers!
