07 G35X no navi - aftermarket sound system

hello all, I'm a new member, have had my 07 G35X for about 7 months and I am looking to install an aftermarket stereo system, tweets, mids and a subwoofer, not sure where to start, I have done a lot of research on this and the hiccup is with the OEM amp(s). I would like to ultimately use my OEM head-unit and replace all the tweets and speakers and sub, and start fresh. Any thoughts on how I can accomplish this, in terms of size of speakers, tweets and the size of the subwoofer that are in the OEM car right now. Can I replace the factory sub in the back rack with an aftermarket 10 inch sub? I really do not want to have a subwoofer box in my trunk. Thanks for any info.

People have done the sub on the rear deck before but I think its 8 inch. and you have to build a box around for good performance. you also wont be able to drive it with the stock amp. As for the Speakers and Tweeters, im not an expert. Let one of the sound guys help you out on that!

you can definitely install new speakers all the way around. you may find that once you do the system won't be as loud anymore (for someone like me though i never turn it up past half anyway). this is because most stock stereo speakers are 2-3 ohms to increase the apparent power output.

it's easy enough to do just poke around on here and im sure you'll find more info.

as for the sub, thats easy, although i would recommend against free-air subs (thats not to say you shouldn't get one just typically they don't sound as good). or just get a bazooka tube if you're really worried about trunk space. the amp is easy enough to install for the sub too, there are several threads on the forum about it. enjoy!

Zoop Remmy, thanks for the replies, I did take a look under that rear deck and I pulled down the Velcro held panel, there is just a cut out back there, with no subwoofer, and after measuring it, 10inch it was. Remmy, you mentioned a Bazooka tube, I took a look and the tube does not really push out that much power, am I not correct in this matter? it's Power Handling - 200 Watts (Max), but I see why you said it because it does not take up much space. it turns out that my car, 07 G35X, does not have the Bose, but the speakers in the back doors still get a good enough of base right now, I wonder what type of 6.5 they are, coaxial, component, or midbase driver. So overall I have a set of 6.5 inch front with tweets and the 6.5 inch rear doors, and that is all.

um, i dont know alot about the bazooka tubes to be honest but im sure you can find a small profile speaker to fit in the trunk. i'll poke around on crutchfield. 200W may be enough depending on what you want. do you want to enhance the bass you have or get some real hard-hitting power? i like enhancement, i have a 800W sub but honestly i never turn the amp up past 4-5 anymore, i'm not interested in shaking my windows, just enjoying the music.
