Question Head Unit ?

Hello, Guys im new to this forum by the way. I just traded in my 05 Max or 07 G35 Sedan. I am familiar with forums, but i was unable to find a thread.

My G is Non-Nav, but does have Bose package with Bluetooth and Sat Radio. My ? is does my car have the harness for the stock Infiniti Unit with Nav and back-up cam. Can i do a switch-a-roo Thanks in advance.

it probably does, and im sure someone will come here and confirm this, but i think it'll be an expensive swap since youd have to change out the screen and add the HD as well, not this simplest of prjs.

Its not as easy as just adding the nav unit and backup camera. You need to replace the entire radio/nav/headunit ( the whole dash for the most part) but there are other cheaper ways of adding all of these things. search around.. me and remmyzero have a bunch of threads on stuff like this.

get it and let us know how it goes.. Idk how it could be that cheap.. I don't think it includes the nav antenna and backup camera.

careful though does not seem to include the HD or the antenna and might be missing a few more things, first check what things you need to do the swap, chekc out a service manual and get a diagram for both systems and see what u need.

hey filipinowise - if you search around the forum here one of the members has the shop manuals on a site you can download from, definitely start there.

right now i don't know offhand if you can just add the camera to the bose stereo...im going to doubt it, but definitely look in the trunk and see if you have the harness there. there are a ton of threads about this here to help you out.

i suspect you *may* have the harnesses but you will have to install the angle sensor behind the steering wheel, the camera control unit, the camera and the trunk lip. not difficult, but the price adds up. if you want the navigation you need an entirely different head unit. i also believe, as was mentioned above, that you need the upgraded headunit to control the camera also. i'll look into that though.
