Ipod in center counsel/Arm Rest

Yeah oddly the wifes 2010 altima has a huge compartment there.. that's really my only beef with the G35.. that and no rear AC vent, but they fixed that on the g37 (like the new altima).
Just no place to put stuff up front.
My friend with his Z got a pro-tech mount that mounts to either side of the console, and they make special brackets for many devices that attach to their generic mount. That might be a good way to go, although it can cost up to $70 for everything, if you get a charging cradle that is hard-wired in.
Why don't you just put the ipod in the armrest and use the car's controls, or do you have an 07 with no ipod controls?

Sorry, my message was about 95% retarded.
I do have it in the armrest and I want to keep it there. The problem is that the armrest barely holds anything. I'd like for it to somehow sit in the armrest in the open air section.
Not my picture but I'm talking about the portion that's at the top of this picture above the vent.
